Hi! I’m Shelly and I’m an addict. Of the buttercream sort. I started this site a few years ago as a way to justify my sugary, buttery obsession with desserts. It has worked out well for me so far, because as it turns out you guys all love sugary, buttery desserts too! It feels good to know you're not alone, doesn’t it? The most popular recipe on the site is the Salted Caramel Buttercream, which is absolutely amazing, but I also wanted to create some recipes. Basically, I wanted whatever it was that made my buttercream recipes so addicting – the butter, the sugar – without all of the excess calorieS.
Most Snickerdoodle recipes rely on vegetable shortening for their crisp/crunchy texture. For those of you who like to avoid shortening, we offer this butter-based Snickerdoodle — which can be either soft and chewy, or crunchy, depending on how long you bake it. Interestingly, they're made with either all-purpose flour or bread flour — tasty evidence that bread flour's not JUST for bread.
Snickerdoodle Cookies do not have to be bland flavorless hockey pucks! I’ll give you all my tips to make sure your cookies don’t turn out dry and crumbly! Originally posted March 1, 2013. (Source: thefoodcharlatan.com)

Thick. Like those massive Levain Cookies everyone raves about. Or Crumbl cookies, has that franchise hit your neighborhood yet? (They have really fun flavors, but their cookies are TOO thick for me. They are downright cakey in the middle.)
