Arbys is a fast food chain with a menu heavy in sandwiches including those famous “ribs”. Arby’s first opened in Bolivar, MO in 1964, with a menu that focused primarily on sandwiches. With Arby’s big fast food names, like Big Beef Burrito, Curly Fries, and Triple X Burger, the chain quickly became heavily saturated in the fast food market.
Thankfully, you can easily jazz this sandwich up by adding Arby's Sauce or Horsey Sauce. For those new to the Arby's universe, Arby's Sauce is somewhere between barbecue sauce, steak sauce, and ketchup with an extra tangy and zingy kick, while Horsey Sauce tastes like a mix of horseradish and creamy mayonnaise. Both of these sauces are fantastic and will instantly improve the Classic Roast Beef sandwich. (Source: The Raffel brothers opened the first new restaurant in Boardman, Ohio, just outside Youngstown, on July 23, 1964. They initially served only roast beef sandwiches, potato chips, and soft drinks. Hoping to attract a more upscale clientele, Arby's interior design was purposely more luxurious in appearance than the typical fast food sandwich stand of the day. Arby's offered their roast beef sandwiches for $.69 at a time when hamburger stands were charging $.15 for a hamburger. (Source:en.wikipedia.org))
I can personally attest to this as my first job was at an Arby's in Nashua, New Hampshire. The hot and delicious roast beef is shipped to the franchise, unsliced, in an air-tight bag to keep it fresh. Since I worked there, they've changed the process though, according to Mashed – the roast beef is cooked in the bag at the franchise – instead of being pre-cooked.
I was so excited to try the Loaded Curly Fries. Had been seeing the commercial for the Crispy Fish and Loaded Curly Fries that were a mix-n-match that was $5.00. The website shows this as a Mix-n-Match as the same. Went to get this along with several other items and was told that I couldn’t mix! I either had to get 2 sandwiches or 2 fries, etc. Wanted to get the Steak Fajita Flatbread and was told they didn’t have any flatbread and it was no longer available on flatbread. So I asked for the sandwich to which they replied they couldn’t do that either! SO, I ordered a Philly Angus Meal (curly fries & drink included), Corned Beef Reuben a fish sandwich, 3 loaded curly fries and a chocolate shake. Price: $37.00 Got home and didn’t have the fish sandwich but had a Beef and Cheddar and only 2 orders of curly fries. Called and asked for the manager. He said he would send me a coupon to which I asked for the Corporate information. I’m pissed as the website says the fish is $2.99 and they said it was 4.99 and the reuben shows $4.99 and they charged $5.99. I could have gone to a sit down restaurant or a buffet and had a half-way decent meal for this ridiculousness. (Source: www.fastfoodmenuprices.com)
Arby's stunt campaign for its "$5 Missing Menu Meal" show how brands can harness trending videos on TikTok into their marketing efforts. The fast food chain so far has received a favorable response from its interactions with @h1t1, including millions of views and thousands of positive comments such as, "It's official, Arby's has the best TikTok," and "Literally this makes me want to try Arby's."
