A Pizza Luce

Pizza Luce

It’s pizza time. And there is nothing like pizza for late nights, for the rest of the world, for the people who love it, for the memories it left, for the place it takes in our lives, for the one-of-a-kind moments it gives us.

Pizza

Pizza Lucé owner Joe Baier worked in pizza delivery until the pizzeria he worked at closed in 1992. Having worked for years in the industry, Baier decided to open a new pizza restaurant, named Pizza Lucé, which opened in 1993 in downtown Minneapolis. It was not initially profitable and in 1995, Scott Nelson, who had worked previously alongside Baier as a pizza deliverer, was hired as the pizzeria's General Manager helped ensure that the restaurant became profitable.

Pizza Luce offers a fun and relaxing experience complete with tattooed walls and award-winning pizza. Lunch, dinner and late-night food are offered within the restaurant. Offering plenty of gluten free and vegan options on the menu for customers with dietary preferences, Pizza Luce has a large variety of food options to please all customers. The restaurant is consistently talked about as the prime location for pizza in the Minneapolis/Saint Paul metro region. A fantastic selection of wines and beers on tap with fantastic happy hours encourage traffic within the location. Food

Started as a Delivery driver, ended up with significant hours in Phones, Expo, Slice Line, Host, Bar Back, Server, and Bar Tender at the Seward location. Having seen a lot of turn over and the company shedding its skin of some toxic employees my general experience with the company was very positive. I have yet to work for another company where I felt as close to my coworkers as I did at Luce. I had a true sense of community. Pizza Tech is a little strange if you’re used to Aloha, but becomes intuitive quickly. It can be equally easy or difficult to get shifts covered, or find extra shifts as needed and employees would often revert to paying each other off for the favor. I’ve known several people to transfer locations for life event based needs. Having only worked in one location I can only speak to my experience at Pizza Luce Seward. In retrospect I find that the tips were competitive in the industry (100-300 max for tipped positions)
