Our favorite espresso joint has homemade vanilla lattes, an awesome selection of coffee to go, and awesome food in general. But what really stood out to us is their engaging, informative blog. And the awesome supporting podcast. And how this awesome shop has made us local heroes.
Machine Gun Kelly is one of rock’s biggest and boldest new voices, an artist who is well known for songs like “Bad Things” and “My Ex’s Best Friend.” Kelly has received acclaim from critics for his unique ability to blend musical genres, and in recent months, he has been spotted at many high-profile events and awards shows. As popular as Kelly’s music is, however, many of his most ardent fans might not realize that he has another business venture — a coffee shop that he developed and opened for a very specific reason.
In early 2020, Machine Gun Kelly embarked on a brand-new business venture. The artist opened a coffee shop named The 27 Club in his former home state of Ohio, in Cleveland’s Flats East Bank. On Mondays in October, we’ll take you on a tour of some local coffee favorites.

So when my best friend texted me about it, I was more than ready to go and get the 27 Club Coffee experience. We took the drive up to Cleveland on a brisk Wednesday (online school for the win!) in the midst of all the election stress, kind of as a self-care day. Turns out we were worried for nothing, but still, chicken and waffles are always a good idea.
