Klay Thompson went off for 50 points in the NBA Finals opener to help the Golden State Warriors beat the Cleveland Cavaliers. He's the first player to score 50 in his first game in the NBA Finals.

We're approaching the quarter mark of the 2021-22 NBA season, and, as is unfortunately always the case, injuries are taking a toll. Some teams have had it worse than others, obviously, but nearly everyone has been shorthanded at one point or another. (Source:One of the biggest names on the injury list this season is Williamson. The Pelicans' young star suffered a fractured foot in the summer, which the Pelicans kept secret until media day. The team then claimed he would be ready for opening night, but that was obviously not the case. In fact, Williamson wasn't even cleared to begin contact drills until earlier this week. He's set to undergo further scans closer to Thanksgiving to determine whether or not he can join team workouts, at which point we'll have a better picture of when he'll be able to play again. Without him, the Pelicans have been a mess, and are currently 3-15.

The Simmons saga is well known at this point. And though he doesn't have a physical injury we'll include him here since he is reportedly dealing with mental health issues. He doesn't want to play for the Sixers anymore, and the team hasn't found a trade they like and neither side will budge as the standoff continues. Most recently, the two sides have been in dispute over Simmons' mental health treatment, and the team recently resumed fininThe veteran big man was off to a pretty solid start in his first season with the Pistons, but he went down with a Grade II MCL sprain after 10 games. He didn't need surgery, which was good news, but the initial timeline was a hefty six weeks. Barring any setbacks he should be back around Christmas, but the struggling Pistons might already be out of the playoff race by that point.

During the 2019 Finals Game 6, Thompson tore his ACL. Recovery period spanning over a year, Thompson missed the entire 2019-20 season. While the NBA icon was looking forward to his return, he, unfortunately, ended up injuring his Achilles. Klay Thompson has played with the Warriors for his entire career. The one-half of the Splash Brother was drafted in 2011 and was the Round 1 No. 11 pick for GSW. Klay Thompson has helped lead the Warriors to their three championships and was averaging 21.5 points per game before his injury. He said, " I’d expect him to get back into full practice at some point in the next few weeks or a month or so. I think the floating target is still around the mid-December range. November 25th will be the full 12-month mark from the Achilles surgery. He said he wouldn’t come back before a year. I think you’re talking mid-December at the earliest because the Warriors are so careful with him. If he’s not feeling full there yet by mid-December, I don’t think they mind pushing it into the January range. n his junior season he was named to the All-Area second team and to the Orange County third team. As a senior Thompson averaged 21 points per game and led SMCHS to a 30–5 record and a Division III State Championship And while there have been hiccups, the team's core of unselfish superstars adjusted to playing with one another very quickly and has overwhelmed more than a few opposing defenses. Thompson's production hasn't suffered much, as he's averaging 21.8 points, 3.8 rebounds and 2.0 assists this season.

On January 23, 2015, Thompson scored a career-high 52 points, with 11 three-pointers, in a 126–101 win over the Sacramento Kings. In the third quarter of that game, he scored an NBA-record 37 points for a single quarter, going 13-for-13 from the field, including nine three-pointers (also a league record for a single quarter). The 13 field goals tied David Thompson's (no relation) record for a quarter. (

On October 29, 2018, against the Chicago Bulls, he hit an NBA-record 14 threes to break Curry's former mark of 13. Thompson scored 52 points in 27 minutes while making 14-for-24 of his threes and shooting 18-for-29 overall from the field. His 10 three-pointers in the first half tied Chandler Parsons' league record set in 2014, and Golden State made 17 threes in the first half to set the NBA record for a half. Thompson moved into 21st place on the NBA's career 3-pointers list when he hit his 1,609th in the first quarter, moving past Jason Richardson.
