Character Posters

The Mario franchise is one of the most beloved in history, and it's getting its own animated feature film! Illumination Entertainment plans to bring it to the big screen in April with Chris Pratt as Mario and Anya Taylor-Joy as Princess Peach.

This film, inspired by Nintendo video games, will be directed by Aaron Horvath and Michael Jelenic and features a voice cast featuring Chris Pratt, Anya Taylor-Joy, Charlie Day, Jack Black, Keegan-Michael Key, Seth Rogen, Fred Armisen, Kevin Michael Richardson, and Sebastian Maniscalco.

Last week, the company unveiled character posters featuring Mario, Luigi and Princess Peach - and now they've shared some new promotional shots for Donkey Kong and Bowser too! These images have been posted to the official Super Mario Movie Twitter account and they look both quite fetching!

Let's begin with Mario, who looks quite heroic and content as he explores the Mushroom Kingdom. The poster also gives us a good view of Peach's castle in the background and there are nods to Piranha Plants, Shy Guys and Banzai Bills!

Mario's brother Luigi appears to be feeling uneasy after being kidnapped by a group of Shy Guys - and he's not alone! This poster also showcases some classic game art as well as nods to the video games that inspired it!

These posters feature Mario and Luigi in familiar scenarios, while Donkey Kong, Princess Peach and Toad will make appearances in the new animated film. One character poster depicts Bowser on a snowy battlefield while another features Kamak and Bowser rocking out on stage to music; finally, another poster shows Mario, Toad and Peach relaxing atop a mushroom overlooking a lake with Peach's Castle! All these posters can be picked up from Trends for some added style to your space - get them all now!

Bowser Poster

Mario franchise has always been beloved, yet it wasn't until recently that Nintendo began giving its iconic characters the big-screen treatment. Now Illumination Entertainment and Nintendo are bringing The Super Mario Bros. Movie to theaters this spring in what looks like a fitting tribute to video games of yesteryear.

Nintendo and Illumination have released several trailers and teasers for The Super Mario Bros. Movie, including one featuring Bowser threatening the Mushroom Kingdom. The trailers are full of nods to the video game series, with one particularly drawing inspiration from Rainbow Road.

Now, the movie has finally unveiled its official poster. Starring Chris Pratt as Mario (Charlie Day), Luigi (Charlie Day), and Princess Peach on each poster is Donkey Kong (Seth Rogen), Toad (Keegan-Michael Key), and Cranky Kong (Fred Armisen).

While these posters don't provide any plot points of the film, they do attempt to capture the character essences. For instance, Bowser stands erect in a snowy scene holding his Power Star, while Donkey Kong and Toad take a rest atop a mushroom.

As an added bonus, Bowser and Donkey Kong posters come with a fold-out map of the world of Super Mario Bros. These maps offer viewers a great way to view all the locations featured in the film.

Chris Pratt, Anya Taylor-Joy, Charlie Day, Seth Rogen, Jack Black and Fred Armisen star in this movie directed by Aaron Horvath and Michael Jelenic (Teen Titans Go!), written by Matthew Fogel (The LEGO Movie 2: Second Part and Minions: The Rise of Gru).

With Bowser and Donkey Kong appearing in the film, it will be interesting to see how they are portrayed. Bowser is known for his powerful threats but also has a character who often shifts between comedy and tragedy in video games. We'll have to see if Bowser can play any sort of comedic role or if he will remain more of a villainous figure threatening Mushroom Kingdom.

Donkey Kong Poster

Shigeru Miyamoto, creator of classic video game Donkey Kong, has created many iconic characters that have endured for generations. Mario in particular is one of these beloved figures.

Donkey Kong is the main antagonist in several games in the Super Mario series and has also appeared in other Nintendo titles. Often accompanied by his sidekick Diddy Kong, Donkey Kong can be found fighting alongside Mario.

Mario has also made cameo appearances in some of the Mario sports titles, such as Mario Golf and Tennis. Additionally, he made cameo appearances in some early titles from the series like Mario's Adventure and Mario's Quest.

Shigeru Miyamoto created Donkey Kong for the 1981 arcade game Donkey Kong. The title proved immensely popular among gamers and spawned multiple sequels. Furthermore, Donkey Kong is widely considered to be one of the earliest platforming video games ever produced.

In the original game, Donkey Kong escaped his cage and kidnapped Pauline (later known as Lady) while working on a construction site. He then tied her to a girder while screaming out for help; this prompted Jumpman to go after him and rescue her.

Donkey Kong was an ape-like creature based on an actual ape from Central America's jungles. Although not particularly intelligent, Miyamoto hoped that playing with him wouldn't pose too many dangers.

In 1994, the Game Boy remake of Donkey Kong was released and featured a redesigned Donkey Kong that could move around independently. This enabled the ape to appear more animated, leading to multiple sequels in subsequent years.

In the 1990s, Donkey Kong rose to become one of video gaming's most beloved characters. He featured in multiple arcade games, home console titles and a Wii spin-off game; additionally he made several cameo appearances in films and games alike.

Princess Peach Poster

For many years, Princess Peach was the victim of Bowser's kidnapping attempts - and for good reason: She's an enchanting princess just a few levels away from defeating Bowser herself!

Now, a new movie is set to introduce us to an entirely different Princess Peach. This time around, she's in charge of the Mushroom Kingdom and will play an integral role in helping Mario take on Bowser.

The new animated film will star a star-studded cast including Anya Taylor-Joy as Princess Peach, Chris Pratt as Mario and Charlie Day as Luigi. Jack Black is set to voice Bowser while Seth Rogen voices Donkey Kong. Directed by Aaron Horvath and Michael Jelenic - who previously collaborated on Teen Titans Go! To the Movies back in 2018 - this animated outing follows in their footsteps.

Uncertain how the film will connect to Mario Kart series, but the poster features a Rainbow Road that looks very much like its virtual counterpart in the game. Furthermore, there are various karts for Mario, Toad and Cranky Kong to drive as well as one for each of their Koopa Troops troops.

In the first poster, Mario leaps high into the air as Piranha Plants and Banzai Bills surround him, ready to smash through blocks with his fist while dodging pitfalls and traps. In the second one, Luigi is held captive by Shy Guys and pulled towards a hot air balloon as Bowser's castle looms in the background.

This poster is stunning, showcasing Illumination's stunning graphics for this film. The colors are vibrant and the various streaks and textures on the road look absolutely stunning.

It looks like one of the more entertaining scenes in the movie, so I can't wait to see it in theaters! This movie should definitely be on everyone's must-see list for Nintendo fans!

The Super Mario Bros Movie Logo Leak Revealed

Nintendo and Illumination have unveiled another official poster for their upcoming Super Mario Bros. Movie, set to hit cinemas in April.

This latest piece of marketing is an effective way to ignite fans' anticipation for the film, especially as it continues to showcase the potential of a well-executed video game adaptation.

The Mario Bros Logo

Super Mario Bros is a series of video games featuring the adventures of little red plumber Mario. Since 1985, this franchise has become highly successful, created by Shigeru Miyamoto and set in an alternate Mushroom Kingdom universe with each title taking place in different regions around the world.

Unlike other franchises, the Mario series features a consistent logo across its various games. This logo consists of just the title Super Mario and serves to symbolize the entire franchise.

The Mario Bros Logo from the Super Mario Bros movie poster has an eye-catching design that perfectly captures the aesthetic of video games. It features Mario leaping into the air, while a backdrop includes floating platforms, pipes, bullets and piranha plants.

Super Mario Bros' logo features bold red lettering with blue, green, and yellow accents - an accurate representation of the font used in video games.

This logo's letters are outlined in black and cast a thin gray shadow, while others feature light blue or green backgrounds. These colors tie the title's color scheme to the rest of the logo while also distinguishing it from other game titles.

Mario Bros has many iconic logos, from the main Mario Bros logo to various character and location emblems. All are designed to help fans quickly recognize characters from the franchise while helping them identify locations within it.

In addition to these, the franchise features a variety of other logos that appear only in promotional material for each game and do not appear within the video games themselves. Some have even been adapted into movies or made appearances in other franchises such as Disney and Star Wars.

Mario uses two main fonts: UD Kakugo (UDJiao go) and UD Marugo (UDWan go). Both fonts are Universal Design, with Latin characters classified as humanist.

The Luigi Bros Logo

Super Mario Bros Movie Twitter account has released a new image of Luigi (voiced by Charlie Day), captioned "When you really need your bro."

This scene depicts Luigi as a green hero being held captive in lava by Shy Guys, seemingly taking him somewhere. It's an intense scene, and Luigi's fearful expression recalls one from his own spinoff series, Luigi's Mansion.

The Super Mario Bros Movie's new poster and first trailer were unveiled alongside the release of The Super Mario Bros Movie, set for April 7, 2023 in North America and Japan. Produced by Nintendo, Illumination Entertainment, and Universal Pictures, Chris Pratt stars as Mario, Jack Black as Bowser, Anya Taylor-Joy as Princess Peach, Keegan-Michael Key as Toad, Seth Rogen as Donkey Kong, and Fred Armisen as Cranky Kong.

As the trailer indicates, Mario and Luigi must traverse an underground labyrinth to save Princess Peach from Bowser's castle. Furthermore, this movie pays a nod to Mario and Luigi's video game roots by paying homage to them both in-game.

Chris Pratt's Mario has drawn some criticism for his casting, but fans of the video game series have unanimously loved Charlie Day as Luigi. Producer Chris Meledandri says Charlie Day's Italian heritage was an important factor in selecting him for this role, despite some concerns that he may not be suitable.

Another major aspect of the film that's been praised is its cast. Pratt, Black, Taylor-Joy and Keegan-Michael key have all received accolades for their performances.

It has been some time since we've seen Princess Peach from the franchise in a feature film. That all changed last year when Disney announced they were creating an animated version of the series.

In that film, Peach is not a major character but instead serves as an accessory to her brother's story. This time around, it appears she is more actively involved and engaged within it.

In the latest film, Mario and Luigi are endeavoring to save Princess Peach from Bowser's evil clutches; however, Bowser is more active as a villain this time around.

The Peach Bros Logo

McDonald's recently leaked an image of the super mario bros movie logo and Princess Peach's design. While it's not the best representation we've ever seen of the film, it does give us a sneak preview into Illumination's upcoming animated movie.

In April of next year, the super Mario Bros movie is coming and its first trailer left everyone in awe with its stunning visuals. It also showcased some new characters like Bowser and Luigi as well as some adorable Nintendo mascots.

Peach has always been a minor character in video games, yet she never had an important role in live-action features until now. Usually being saved by our plumber hero, Peach now holds a key place on Mario's team and will play an essential role in this movie's battle with Bowser.

Princess Peach will be voiced by Anya Taylor-Joy, a Golden Globe winning actress best known for her roles on Netflix series The Queen's Gambit and Peaky Blinders. Her voice is said to accurately replicate Peach's appearance in recent games.

For most of Mario's nearly four-decade career, Princess Peach was the only major character who didn't make a cameo in any of his games - making her appearance all the more surprising for fans of our beloved green pixelated plumber. It's difficult to think of many other video game characters who would've worked better as big screen adaptations than our beloved princess so seeing her get her moment in the spotlight is truly a welcome sight.

Unsurprisingly, McDonald's promotional calendar has appeared online featuring some of Illumination's highly anticipated movie, such as the Super Mario Bros logo and Mario Kart inspired poster. Even Princess Peach's castle looks amazing with its ray-traced spit shine treatment!

The Bowser Bros Logo

The Bowser Bros Logo from Super Mario Bros. Movie is an image depicting King Bowser as he stands tall over Mushroom Kingdom, one of its main antagonists. As such, it has gained much acclaim among fans so far.

The first trailer for the film depicts Bowser and his army fighting against penguins in an ice-covered kingdom. As they throw snowballs at him and his soldiers, Bowser's fire breath quickly dispatches them all.

Referencing the beloved King of the Koopas and his army of Koopa Troops from Mario video games, this phrase refers to their powerful yet humorous villain in these titles. While generally powerful and intimidating in appearance, King Koopa often provides humorous moments between him and our heroes.

Uncertain how much of the Bowser Bros Logo will appear in the actual film, but Nintendo and Illumination Entertainment have released a poster for the upcoming release that showcases all major characters including Mario, Luigi, Peach, Toad and Bowser. The poster provides an interesting perspective of all these individuals and looks like something that will be used to promote the movie before its April 7th release date.

Bowser gets a makeover in the movie, with more detailed body and scales. His mouth has also been altered to give him more expression, as have his teeth and tail spikes.

Another notable change is Bowser's tail is no longer a red circle of spikes as it was in the original game. Furthermore, his eyes have grown larger and more detailed, which seem better suited for his overall size in the movie than they did previously.

Jack Black, Bowser's voice actor, plays an integral role in the movie and seems to be leaning more towards villainy. In the teaser trailer he appears more menacing and interrogates Luigi at the end with an implied threat of murder with his claw.
