What happened in season 2?

Joe (Robin Lord Taylor) and Love's (Maeve Sweeney) relationship takes an unexpected turn when Love discloses her psychopath past to her. When Forty's au pair abuser died when they were kids, Love murdered his victim and falsely accused her own brother of it - making her the target of Homelander's wrath.

At the end of the season, she confessed to her murder and was forgiven, so now she's eager to start dating again. Additionally, she plans on moving to the UK to start a family with Will.

No one knows how this will ultimately shape their relationship, but they certainly face new obstacles to overcome. They may need to find a way to live together while keeping their secrets from each other.

At this point, it appears he may have some enemies in the Seven, with A-Train's (Jessie Usher) return and Translucent (Alex Hassell) being killed by Maeve. Yet he was seen alongside Butcher (Larry Gants) and Starlight (Danielle McElligott) during the season finale, suggesting a possible reunion within the group.

What will happen in season 3?

Ted becomes acquainted with his players and staff at AFC Richmond, but he quickly notices there's division within the locker room. Roy Kent (Brett Goldstein) is angry and at odds with Jamie Tartt (Cristo Fernandez). Additionally, Ted meets Sharon Fieldstone (Sarah Niles), a sports psychologist who assists the team in dealing with their issues.

Apple TV+'s new season will premiere March 15th and follow the team as they continue their struggle to reach the Premier League, England's top-flight soccer league. Furthermore, it will focus on Ted's relationship with his son whom he left behind in America while coaching abroad.

Rebecca Walton (Hannah Waddingham)

Hannah Waddingham has become the breakout star of sleeper hit Ted Lasso since its premiere last summer, earning Emmy nominations and earning a Golden Globe nomination for her performance as Rebecca Walton, owner of AFC Richmond football team. Additionally, she will appear in Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part 2, featuring Tom Cruise as head of an elite spy organization; we spoke to her about her role on Ted Lasso as well as future projects.

Before she joined Ted Lasso, Waddingham wasn't well-versed in the character of Rebecca (Jason Sudeikis). She told us she didn't care to learn more about either Coach Lasso or Nick Mohammed's Nathan Shelley because "it just wasn't her thing."

Rebecca not only coaches AFC Richmond's team, but she is the owner of a PR agency as well. With all these responsibilities weighing on her mind, Ted offers to help relieve some stress; Rebecca takes advantage of this chance and sets about trying to restore her business back on track.

After AFC Richmond are promoted to the Premier League, Rebecca makes changes in her team in an effort to win it all. But she's not alone in feeling overwhelmed by all the pressure she's under; her ex-husband Rupert Mannion (Anthony Head) has bought rival team West Ham and recruited Shelley as their coach.

Despite this, she still believes in Ted and his vision for the team. In fact, she even asks him for some advice on how to handle her ex-husband properly.

It's interesting that both Ted and Rebecca seem to turn their failures into successes in order to distract themselves from the pain they feel. In Ted's case, it was his failed marriage and their mother's unwavering loyalty to an emotionally abusive father; while for Rebecca it was her failed relationship with her husband as well as both parents' emotional abuse.

Rebecca and Ted seem to find it easier to deal with their issues when working alongside someone who's positive and upbeat. As a result, they have an effective working relationship with Ted and the rest of the crew.

Keeley Jones (Juno Temple)

Keeley Jones (Juno Temple) is one of the most endearing characters on Apple TV's "Ted Lasso" season 3. This show, which recently earned 20 Emmy nominations, is more than just a comedy about an American football coach who takes an unexpected coaching gig coaching a soccer team in England; rather, it offers an insightful look at cultural differences that makes it essential viewing for fans of Apple's streaming service.

When I spoke to Temple about her role on the series, she shared that it had never before been such an intimate part of her character's life. Over two seasons on the show, Temple has found a natural connection with Keeley that earned her three Critics' Choice Awards and a Golden Globe nomination for her efforts.

Juno expressed her admiration for co-star Hannah Waddingham, who plays Rebecca Walton at AFC Richmond. They met during their first table read for the show in a ladies bathroom and were immediately drawn together by their connection.

In a Zoom Q&A with Waddingham, she discussed their collaboration to "create that beautiful Keeley-Rebecca vibe," where they both allow each other to adore but also challenge one another. She added that Temple had "naturally brought that liveliness, sweetness and wit which I think genuinely endeard her to the writers."

For me, the most endearing part of the show was watching Keeley and Rebecca mature and learn more about each other throughout its run. They've become these "extraordinary mirrors for one another," Temple says, who truly adore each other without competing against one another.

The actress also shared that she's always been drawn to portraying women who are confident in themselves, particularly when it comes to their bodies. This passion she puts into practice when playing Keeley.

Keeley quickly discovers that her teammates provide her with a lot of support. She takes time to thank each one for their hard work and motivates them to remain strong. Additionally, Keeley tries to assist Nate when he struggles with his relationships and feelings towards Keeley.

Roy Kent (Brett Goldstein)

Ted Lasso continues to battle both personal and professional obstacles, turning to Roy Kent (Brett Goldstein) for assistance. But it turns out he's not alone; many of his teammates suffer from mental health issues as well.

Goldstein, a self-professed football fanatic, grew up around the game and understands its power to connect men with each other. Even while he's busy with other projects, the actor can't help but keep this show close to his heart.

Goldstein also has an engaging sense of humor, making the show enjoyable to watch even while it emphasizes the hard work required to win games. As Roy, Goldstein has won two Emmy Awards and is currently working on another project called Shrinking with Jason Segel and Bill Lawrence which could potentially lead to additional Ted Lasso episodes in the future.

In season 2, Goldstein revealed that Roy has a niece named Phoebe who shares his interest in movies; so it should come as no surprise that Roy feels close to her. Additionally, Roy holds strong religious convictions and believes everything happens for a purpose.

Roy and Keeley (Juno Temple) are facing greater strains in their relationship than ever before. While they remain dedicated to each other, Keeley seems to be focusing more on her PR firm.

Meanwhile, Rebecca's (Hannah Waddingham) relationships with Rupert Mannion (Anthony Head) and Nate Obisanya (Toheeb Jimoh) appear to be on the brink of collapse. She's so consumed with her former flame that she keeps revisiting their pasts whenever they meet up.

Ted gives the team a boost of positive encouragement when they visit the sewers for his inspirational pep talk, reminding them that they're still one big team. According to Apple TV+'s press release, players take this lesson to heart and work together harder than ever before.

Though Ted and his team may be leaving the league, he's not giving up on winning a championship. As he said on the Happy Sad Confused podcast: "I don't believe in winning to be great; however, there's more to life than just wins and losses."
