Painter of the night

I am what I am. I'm what I've done. I'm what I've seen.

night

Na-kyum is a young painter with an exceptional talent: creating erotic images of men. Though he has published a few collections under a pseudonym, he has decided to quit painting. Then Seungho, a young nobleman, barges into his life. A hell-raiser notorious for his insatiable lust, Seungho forces Na-kyum to become his private painter. However, the nights that await Na-kyum are beyond anything he could have imagined…I'm not a BL fanatic, but good BL usually has an awesome story with evolving characters and an intriguing background. Now; Painter of The Night has all these things, but it is a hardcore BL. There is lots of buttseckx, but if you can get past all that...you will see that the art is amazing. The artist spared no expense with facial expressions, anatomy and color. I irnored the sex after a while before the art was just so good and the story went so well. This is one of the best illustrated BL reads on the internet. Give it a go. (Source:

I have found myself reading the dozen chapters available repeatedly and I can't help stopping and just gazing at the characters. It wasn't even about the sexual encounters. Rather, the artist captures expressions and Just as Seungho is riveted by Na-kyum's work, I found myself absolutely mesmerized by the gorgeous art in the webcomic Painter of the Night, as well as the surprisingly layered story of a noble determined to offer his patronage to a young artist - whether the latter wants it or not.

In comparison, Painter of the Night focuses on Seungho, a noble who uses his power and privilege to pursue a homosexual hedonistic life regardless of social mores of the period. Na-kyum's naivete and idealism acts as a foil to throw Seungho's deviant tendencies into stark relief. Seungho is driven and willing to kill to achieve his goals, especially since society gives him the authority and power to do just that. Currently, he is more of a ridiculously charismatic and dangerous antagonist than a romantic male lead, though his frequent nudity does help convince us otherwise. (Source: www.goodreads.com)
