Despite the critique that too much of it is “fluff” (my favorite term), I have a bias that in time anything that gets us closer to understanding the world becomes valuable. I agree with Andrew Weil’s iconic maxim that science advances because of serendipity and luck. But I also believe more science is needed , if we’re ever to understand the world.
