What Makes "Locke & Key" Terrifying and Original?

What makes "Locke & Key" so terrifying and original is the way it blurs the lines between reality and fantasy. The story is full of dark, gothic elements that make it feel like a horror movie, and the characters are all incredibly complex and multi-dimensional.

However, at the same time, the story uses this otherworldly setting as a way to tell more traditional horror stories.

Shelve Locke & Key, Master Edition Volume Three

Shelve Locke & Key, Master Edition Volume Three and prepare for the end. The final chapter in the Locke & Key saga is a doozy, as the kids face off against Dodge in a battle that will determine the fate of the world.

It's a little bit of everything. There are comedy scenes, horror scenes, suspense scenes and some nice character work as well.

Shelve Locke & Key, Vol. 4 Keys to the Kingdom

Shelve Locke & Key, Vol. 4 Keys to the Kingdom – The kids are back and they’re looking for the keys to the kingdom. With Dodge out of the picture, things are looking up for the Locke family, but they’re not out of the woods yet.

It’s time to look for more keys, but this time they’re looking in the wrong place.

This is a double sized chapter that gives us lots of bang for our buck. It's definitely a fun read and worth the money.

A fellow avid reader offered these thoughts on this one:

Shelve Locke & Key, Vol. 6 Alpha & Omega

The final volume of the Locke & Key series, Alpha & Omega, brings the story to a close. In this installment, the Locke family must face off against the demons that have been tormenting them for years.

Luckily for them, the key to salvation is here.

I'm glad we didn't have to wait long for the final volume, but I wish there had been more time to explore our characters in some deep, existential manner.

Shelve Locke & Key, Vol. 2 Head Games

If you're a fan of the first volume, you'll definitely want to check out the second. Volume 2 picks up right where Volume 1 ended. We're immediately thrust into the middle of the first Locke & Key story, ""The Three Keys. "" It's a quick read, but one that leaves plenty of questions unanswered.
