Lauren From Summer House
Lauren from Summer House by Lauren Connelly is a great book about how friendships can develop over time. It is the story of Jules and her attempts to become BFFs with Paige, and also about Hannah's loneliness and Stephen McGee's decision not to return.
One of the more enjoyable parts of my day job is the chance to visit museums and galleries. Fortunately, my colleagues have been kind enough to allow me to check out their collections. I was impressed by the quality of the exhibits but was less so by the number of staff. During my travels I also had the chance to catch up with an old friend and former roommate who authored the book, The Lonely City. She was kind enough to share a few interesting anecdotes, like her decision to flee the city to the country. After spending a few years in Switzerland, she was inducted into the illustrious elite, the movers and shakers of the academic community. Her most impressive feat was her ability to maintain a high level of intellectual engagement. This notwithstanding, she did not have the same luck as her fellow compatriots, but she was not the only one to succumb to the proverbial wrath of the great man.
There are many more to choose from, but the above mentioned is a good start.
Amanda Batula and Kyle Cooke have been a fixture of Summer House since Season 1. The two have faced ups and downs together, and they've come to an agreement to move forward with their relationship.
While they've had a rough time in the past, the two have finally settled down and married last September. They've also started a beverage business together, which has been quite successful. But there's still one problem.
In Season 6, Kyle's drinking has caused several problems for the pair. When they were first together, he was a lot drunker than he is now. And now, he's not as receptive to conversations about alcohol.
The couple got engaged last September, but a few months later, they had to put their wedding on hold because of their alcohol issues. After that, they went on vacation to the Hamptons to spend more time together.
That was when Amanda learned that Kyle had cheated on her. He cheated when he was drunk on a night out years ago. So, she was worried about what it would mean for their relationship. She was even considering canceling their wedding.
In the meantime, Carl was going to be spending the summer with Lindsay, and they'd be going out on their first official date. However, the two were battling it out with another girl.
When the four housemates get back to New York City, they all have a chance to work on the issue. Jules tries to break through the sexual roadblock while Stephen and Stephen's mother try to resolve their differences.
Another issue that is affecting the relationship is Amanda's fear that Kyle will repeat his drunken mistakes while out partying. Since they met, they've grown to be very close.
Everett Weston and Lindsay Hubbard are two former Summer House cast members who came into the house as a couple. They dated for a year before breaking up. Since then, they've become close friends and started dating.
Before the relationship began, they were best friends. But when they got together, they began to fight a lot. It seems like Lindsay isn't very interested in dating in the Hamptons.
After the breakup, they became friends again. Everett is now engaged to longtime girlfriend Courtney Cavanagh. And Everett has been working at a company called Operation: Heal Our Heroes, which helps military veterans adjust to home life.
Carl Radke and Lindsay Hubbard are also former Summer House cast members. The pair dated briefly during the fourth season. However, they ended up falling out of love.
After the split, Everett and Lindsay decided to keep their friendship. Carl Radke, on the other hand, dated another former Summer House cast member, Lauren Wirkus.
After the show finished airing, Everett and Lindsay were seen on several episodes. However, there was a scandal surrounding their relationship. While they were not the only ones involved, they were the only ones that were shown on the show.
In the Season 3 finale of Summer House, Lindsay admits that she has been sexually active since season 2. She also gets to know her mom, who hasn't talked to her in eight years. During the episode, she also tells a few other housemates that she has abandonment issues.
Although Lindsay was one of the few housemates that got along with everyone, she didn't always get along with the other cast members. Some of her nemeses included Hannah Berner and Ciara Miller.
Jules Daoud is a reality TV star who has been featured on Season 4 of Summer House. She grew up in Cincinnati, Ohio and was raised by Jordanian parents. She has a degree in health services from DePaul University in Chicago. In her free time, she blogs at Simply Jules and works as a fashion blogger.
Her appearance on the show was not the most exciting. But it was a sign that the show has a lot more drama on the horizon.
When Jules is asked to take part in a "truth or dare" game, she comes in for a surprise. After a 20-minute wait, she brings up a recent episode.
In this episode, Carl Radke tries to get more out of his relationship with Lindsay. As it turns out, they've been secretly hooking up. They've also been discussing the fingering incident with their gang.
However, things didn't turn out as planned. While they try to make the relationship work, they both realize that the other is not a good fit for them.
Carl continues to spiral. Lindsay doesn't want a relationship with him. Luckily, she is able to calm him down.
On a separate note, Kyle and Amanda are in a challenging situation. They both haven't been interested in their wedding. This leaves Kyle on the last nerve.
The final week of Summer House will be filled with a bachelor party for Kyle and a bachelorette party for Amanda. Both sides are expected to fight at the reunion.
It's also a big weekend for the girls. Hannah catches out that Jules is looking for new friends. With Paige, they have a great rapport.
A new cast member has joined the Summer House crew. Ciara Miller will be featured in an upcoming episode.
Summer House debuted on Bravo in 2017 as a crossover of Vanderpump Rules. The show is centered around a group of New York City-based friends, many of whom live in Montauk.
After the first season, the cast members changed. Carl Radke and Danielle Olivera were dropped from the show. In addition, Weston Gibson and Jules left. However, Lindsay Hubbard, Amanda Batula, and Kyle Cooke all returned.
Stephen McGee was part of the early Summer House cast. He remained in contact with the Wirkus sisters. He had a relationship with Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright. But it was clear that he was not happy with Carl.
He recently opened up about the show's departure. During the Behind the Velvet Rope podcast, he explained how the show came together.
The new group of housemates is a mix of old friends and new ones. There is a drama-magnet, a wildcard, and a nomad.
Kyle and Amanda feel a lot of pressure from their other housemates. Their new boyfriends, Perry and Perry, are too busy to hang out with them. They are also bothered by Stephen's hectic schedule. When the two go on a blind date, they end up with a guy who is hot.
Stephen and Carl haven't talked since November. Earlier this season, he was upset with Carl because his parents had divorced. And Stephen claimed Carl had not told him in confidence.
Danielle Olivera is Carl's ex-girlfriend. She has also joined the Big Brother house.
Despite the drama in the house, the group finds a way to have fun. A roller-skating party is thrown by Danielle. Another housemate receives an explosive psychic tip. Hannah and Ciara's friendship threatens Luke's chances of getting with either girl.
When it comes to summer housing, there are many different options to choose from. The University of Cleveland is one option to consider, but a couple other choices include Akron, St. Thomas, and Dayton.
If you are planning to attend the University of Dayton in the near future, you may want to consider one of the many options available for housing. The options range from on-campus apartments to off-campus houses, condos, and even private residences.
The first place you should start is by figuring out if you qualify. There is a lot of competition for the limited number of available space. A good place to start is the student housing portal. On this site, you can learn about the housing and dining options available to you.
For graduate students, you can also take advantage of the campus's residential living facilities. These include Plumwood and University Place Apartments. You can also choose from a wide selection of eateries like Au Bon Pain or Rudy on the Run. However, you might be surprised to know that these are not the only dining options on campus.
Likewise, you will be pleased to hear that the University of Dayton has a parking scheme in place. Students who want to drive to campus will need to purchase a summer parking permit. This will cost you a whopping $92!
For those who are looking for a little less expensive housing, you might be interested in the University of Dayton's student-owned Irving Commons apartments. They are conveniently located just a few blocks from the Roesch Library and the downtown shopping district. During the day, you can catch a free shuttle to the law school or Fitz Hall.
Other housing options include rental units in the Miami Valley area. This area is also home to several apartment complexes, condominiums, and townhouses.
If you're still not sure what's best for you, you can always contact the Office of Housing and Residence Life for more information.
There are a few things to consider when choosing the University of Cleveland's summer housing options. First, the university does not own any housing facilities, and it does not recommend one over the other. Instead, it has partnered with several leading healthcare institutions and Fortune 500 companies to help students secure employment and research opportunities.
Its residence halls are manned by a team of graduate hall directors and resident assistants who help keep the campus community in order. In addition to its traditional residences, the University of Cleveland has a few off-campus living options that might be better for some students.
The Uptown Residence Hall boasts a number of amenities, including a cardio lounge and free laundry. Its four floors of two-bedroom suites are located in the nexus of the CSU campus and Downtown Cleveland.
The Triangle offers all-inclusive pricing and is within easy walking distance to the University hospital and numerous dining options. This is an excellent choice for students looking to sample the local flavor of Cleveland without committing to long-term leases.
Among its many amenities, the Haviland Hall features a full kitchen, making it a good choice for students working as summer interns. Other off-campus options include Langston Apartments and the Langston Apartments mainstay. Each offers two and three bedroom apartments. A few of the larger properties offer four bedrooms.
One of the best places to find out about the various residences available is through the CSU Office of Student Life and Housing. If you are interested in signing up for their pre-orientation program, you will need to submit a $200 housing fee by May 1. Regardless of whether you sign up for a residence or not, it is recommended that you read the fine print to ensure you are getting the best deal.
The University of Akron has a variety of housing options available to students, including dormitories, private rental houses, and apartments. In the past few years, UA has built or purchased five residence halls on campus. This year, UA expects to have a majority of students living on campus.
Bulger Hall is located on the North Quad and is a 16-story building that accommodates 300 students in double suites. Bulger Residence Hall is one of the most popular dorms at the University of Akron. Its shared bathrooms are available for all residents.
401 Lofts is an apartment complex that targets students and young professionals. Each unit is designed to be a single or double room, and there are also by-the-bedroom rentals. 401 Lofts is located on Cedar and South Main streets.
Rob's Cafe is another apartment complex located on South Main Street. It features suite-style bedrooms with common bathrooms. Residents can take advantage of meal plans and free tanning domes.
The University Edge is a retail and student housing complex that includes an apartment complex. EnVision Apartments are south of the campus. These apartments were developed by Richland Communities. They feature units for upper-class and graduate students.
There are several other apartment complexes that offer student housing near the UA campus. A number of these apartment complexes are privately owned. Some of these apartments provide more than a dozen on-campus amenities, including computer labs, laundry facilities, and free Wi-Fi.
A new study is underway to examine the boom in private off-campus developments in Akron. City leaders want to learn more about the effect these new development projects have on the city. One of these studies will look at the impact student housing has on downtown.
The University of Saint Thomas is about to open two new dorms on the north end of its campus. This project is part of the institution's long-term facilities plan. It will cost about $85 million to build these new residence halls.
Tommie North and East will be the first new dormitories built at Saint Thomas since Morrison Hall was completed in 1998. They will provide housing for 480 first-year students.
These dorms will be completed in 2020. However, they will be only half of the total amount of housing that the university will have on its campus. So, in the meantime, the university will be looking to find ways to house its second-year and upperclassmen students.
The new residence halls will be located north and south of the Chapel of St. Thomas Aquinas.
Each of the new dorms will have about 700 beds. Upperclassmen will be given priority in resident student parking permits. Parking for faculty and staff is also provided in the new dorms.
In addition to new dorms, the University is renovating older residence halls. These halls will be ready to accommodate students in the fall of 2020.
The campus is expected to make its carbon footprint neutral in about a decade. To achieve this goal, the university is working with a local architectural firm called Populus to assess its needs.
A new first-year dorm will replace John Paul II, and will feature a dining hall on the first floor. The building will also have underground parking.
The new second-year dorm will be four or five stories tall. This will allow all freshmen to be in on-campus housing when it is finished.
The Tommie North and Tommie East dorms will have 85 below-grade parking spaces. Parking for visitors is provided as well.

The Hoover Dining Commons is home to Cleveland's newest food court. There is a small kitchen where interns can make some of their own dinner. If that's not your thing, there's always Giant Eagle, a mere mile from campus. Among the food court's more than a few choices, you'll find a well-priced menu, including the Hoover's signature burger.
While the Hoover dining commons hasn't reinvented the wheel, its latest incarnation is a slick operation. With more than two dozen eateries to choose from, you'll have a hard time going hungry. The food court also boasts a Starbucks, which is a rare treat for the Cleveland high school set. On the weekends, the food hall morphs into a full-service coffee shop. As a bonus, it's conveniently located on the campus, making it easy for students to grab a quick caffeine fix between classes.
In addition to its extensive menu, the food court offers free Wi-Fi, which is the perfect setting for a student-focused study session. For those who want a more personalized experience, the Hoover Dining Commons has a small staff of friendly and helpful staff members. Giant Eagle is a supermarket chain that has been around since 1928. It was founded by three families in the Pittsburgh area. After World War I, these families built Eagle Grocery, which merged with Kroger in 1928. By the time the company became a subsidiary of Kroger, it had 125 stores.
Giant Eagle started to expand in the Greater Columbus area in the late 2000s. They opened a few new stores and expanded into several other areas. Now, the company has over 216 supermarkets in the United States. Many of these stores are on former Kroger sites.
Giant Eagle stores have many different departments and services. For example, they have a pharmacy and a dry cleaning service. Additionally, they offer grocery pickup, in-store day care, and a rewards program. Plus, they carry more than 22,000 items.
Many of the stores are unionized. However, there are also a number of non-union stores. Some of the locations are family-owned and others are franchised.
As a result, they tend to be more expensive. Giant Eagle also charges more for comparable goods. This has decreased the company's market share in the first decade of the 21st century.
While the company's market share has decreased, they still have the largest market share in the Pittsburgh region. They compete against another supermarket chain, Tops, which is located in New York.
Giant Eagle stores are open seven days a week. They carry a wide selection of products, including organic and ethnic foods. They offer in-store banking and drive-thru pharmacies. There are also more than two dozen departments.
In addition to its stores, the company has a partnership with Citizens Bank in Pennsylvania and West Virginia. Several of its stores are also fuel stations. Also, they offer a loyalty program, called fuelperks+. Standard members earn perks on one dollar spent, while pro members get three perks for every gallon of gas they fill.

In recent months, reality star Monique Samuels has confirmed that she won't be returning to her hit show, Ultimate Girls' Trip, which debuted in 2013. The 33-year-old has said that it wasn't worth the pain she's experienced over her marriage and divorce, and that she doesn't feel she's ready to return to reality television just yet.
Love & Marriage: DC Season 2 reunion plans may not be that clear cut. After all, there is no set plan for Monique Samuels' return to the show. In fact, there are speculations that she will not be returning at all. Nonetheless, there will be some changes.
While part one of the reunion saw several housewives addressing the state of their relationships, part three of the reunion will focus on the two biggest dramas. That's a lot of talking. Thankfully, the ladies are also setting the record straight.
Part 1 of the reunion saw Monique and Chris Samuels admit that they are struggling with their marriage. They also said that they are not planning to divorce. However, they were confronted by Karen and Ray Huger.
Another interesting character is Ashley Darby. She's trying to find happiness and wants to take her marriage to the next level. Her relationship with Michael Darby, however, remains a bit of a mystery.
The other major storyline in part one of the reunion was Gizelle Bryant. She was a target of much of the season's drama. It's unclear how the two are getting along, but it's likely that Gizelle is jealous of her boyfriend. And Karen isn't a fan of her fashion choices.
As for part two of the reunion, there are a few other characters to keep an eye on. For instance, there is a rumor that Wendy Osefo and Mia Thornton are having a feud, which could spill into the show's seventh season.
Finally, there is the aforementioned Candiace Dillard. While she was a tad bit overblown, she was also a major player in the reunion. So, it's understandable that she would want to file charges against Samuels.
With the help of Andy Cohen, they'll bring Monique, Gizelle, and Ashley to a reunion on December 13. You'll get to see the "best and the worst" of each of these housewives. But the most important part is that they all come together to talk about their relationship and their personal lives.
It's a fun and exciting way to finish up the season, but it will be exhausting.
After starring on a few seasons of The Real Housewives of Potomac, Monique Samuels decided to take a break from reality TV. She was also plagued with rumors about her unfaithfulness in her marriage. However, Samuels is back on the small screen with her own reality series. Her show is called Love & Marriage: DC and it airs on OWN.
The show features a group of women from Potomac, Maryland. Most of them are Black, but there is a rich racial and cultural element to the cast. Some of the cast members have a lot of money, while others are more low-key and are just trying to make it. It's a mix of personalities that makes for good television.
Aside from the show, Monique Samuels is busy with her family. She and her husband Chris have three children. They also own businesses. But what exactly has changed since the end of RHOP?
As it turns out, Monique hasn't been getting feedback from the network. That's why she turned down their offer to be a part of their Ultimate Girls Trip.
During the filming of RHOP, she also talked about the state of her marriage. According to her, she and her husband are not happy. This may be the reason why she declined Carlos King's offer to participate in the Ultimate Girls Trip.
While she is no longer part of the RHOP cast, she still plans to take advantage of her new reality show. The show will focus on her and her husband's family life, as well as their business endeavors.
In addition to her show, Monique also jokingly said that she suffered from "reality TV PTSD." She also says she's putting her career on hold, because she is too busy raising her children and running her businesses.
She did make an appearance on the Real Housewives of Potomac season seven trailer. Fans of the show will definitely be interested in watching what happens on the new season. You can expect a lot of feuding between the cast members and some big surprises.
Monique Samuels and her husband Chris Samuels have been married for ten years and have three children together. However, they have recently been experiencing marital struggles.
While it seems like this may be a sign of a rocky relationship, Monique and Chris both insist that they are still happily married. They also say they are going through "process" to work on their marriage. The two are also in therapy.
It was reported by People magazine that they had split after ten years of marriage. Monique and Chris said they were disappointed by the report. Although they deny the article, it seemed to be accurate.
Monique has spoken about her struggles with reality TV and PTSD. She says she was "ambushed" by the report and wanted to set the record straight. In fact, the couple had plans to separate before filming season two of Love & Marriage: DC.
During the show's first season, Monique and Chris had a lot of trouble. They were at odds with each other and were reportedly headed toward divorce. But they were able to work it out. This was their storyline for the show.
After a two-year hiatus, Monique and Chris returned to reality television. The two reintroduced themselves to fans after the RHOP's exit.
Sadly, they didn't return to Love & Marriage: DC. Instead, a couple from another OWN show will be replacing them. Apparently, there were not too many people looking for a replacement couple.
Although it's unclear why Monique decided to quit Love & Marriage: DC, it appears as though the show was not for her. According to multiple sources, the couple isn't going to be returning.
According to Samuels, her departure from the show was due to "contract issues". Fortunately, she has a new show to pursue. Also, she has no hard feelings towards Love & Marriage cast members.
As for her divorce narrative, it will be featured as a storyline on the show. Hopefully, we will see the real Monique soon. And if she can get her act together, we might just see the couple again!
When Monique McLaughlin was asked if she has any regrets about turning down the chance to appear on Ultimate Girls' Trip, she responded that she didn't have any. She has also said that she hasn't had any conversations with her former co-stars about whether or not they think she should return to the show. In addition, she hasn't seen the show, and she hasn't received any feedback from the network or her castmates. However, she does say that she's looking forward to the upcoming second season.
The first season of Ultimate Girls' Trip premiered last month, and it was widely praised. It featured cast members such as Vicki Gunvlason, Dorinda Medley, Eva Marcille, Brandi Glanville, and Tamra Judge. This week, a new trailer for the show was released, and fans are ready to see more of what's in store for the new season. Luckily, you can tune in to hayu, a streaming service, on November 19 to get your fix.
The Tinys have filed a lawsuit against toymaker MGA Entertainment for allegedly copying their likeness. Apparently, they allege that the toymaker has violated their trademark by using their likeness to create a line of dolls, which are called OMG Girlz.
A federal trial involving the OMG Girlz and the ol' "L.O.L. Surprise! O.M.G." dolls is making headlines. The trial began on January 17th. It will end with a judge deciding whether or not a second trial is required. Both parties will meet next week to discuss the matter.
MGA Entertainment, the toymaker, is defending itself against claims by the Harris family that it copied the likes of the O.M.G. and the best-known names in hip-hop music. The lawsuit was filed in 2021.
MGA's lawyers have a lot on their plate, as the group made its mark in the early part of the millennium. They say the group has the goods, and are not afraid to show it. Several members of the group are expected to testify, including Larian, the inventor of the L.O.L. Surprise! O.M.G., as well as the aforementioned Zonnique Pullins.
MGA's lawyers sparked controversy with their claim that the O.M.G. and its successor, the "L.O.L. Surprise! "O.M.G.", were the best-known hip-hop group, with the group having the best-known name in the business. Those claims are based on a cease and desist letter they received from the family of the aforementioned rapper. In addition to denying the company's claims, they said the group made a modest contribution to the cultural sphere.
Despite a long courtroom battle, MGA Entertainment was able to prevail. A ruling is expected by the end of the year. Meanwhile, the Harris family has gotten its fair share of press attention as well. Although they were not in the jury pool, they did attend the aforementioned "O.M.G. and the best-known name in hip-hop music" trial.
Although there were many buzz-worthy innovations at play in the trial, the best-known names in the hip-hop biz did their part in the tiniest of ways. The biggest stumbling block was not getting a proper licensing deal. Some members of the group were rumored to have received a percentage of the group's profits. Nonetheless, the group is back together for a climactic 2017 New Year's Eve performance.
In the legal smackdown that began in Santa Ana last week, Tiny Harris and T.I.'s attorney's took on MGA Entertainment Inc., the company behind the infamous LOL Surprise Dolls. They allege the dolls' likeness resembled that of Tameka and her daughter.
Attorneys for T.I.'s wife, Tiny Harris, claim that dolls intimidate their daughter, who is 13 years old. She claims the dolls resemble the look of her daughter's former girl group, OMG Girlz.
The dolls, which have been sold at major retailers since they were launched in 2016, have a number of similarities to the OMG Girlz. For example, the dolls have a similar hair color and outfits.
Although the dolls are based on Tiny Harris' former rap group, OMG Girlz, they are not a direct copy of the girl group. Instead, the company argues, the dolls are inspired by various other trends and places. This is not uncommon for toy companies to use creative licenses to produce a variety of products.
However, it is not clear how many of the 31 dolls will be called into question. Several of them are slated to be put under the microscope.
The lawsuit will take place in the federal court in Santa Ana, California. The trial is expected to last for 10 days. According to reports, the plaintiffs will be able to call several witnesses to testify about the alleged misappropriation of OMG Girlz. A status conference has been scheduled for February 2.
Tiny and T.I. are also expected to be able to present their lawyers with evidence about the racial diversity of OMG Girlz fans. These witnesses could prove to be particularly important to the jury because race is still a factor in the trial.
One of the key issues in the case is whether the lawsuit can be considered a First Amendment claim. Assuming it can, the success of the claim depends on whether the defendants can successfully distinguish work from inspiration.
In order to make the First Amendment claim work, the defendants must demonstrate a valid claim of profit and how they intend to use the alleged misappropriation to achieve their objectives.
MGA Entertainment is a Los Angeles-based toymaker. It manufactures Bratz dolls. The company also owns LOL Surprise! products, which include the 5 Surprise balls.
In 2007, Breuil, the CEO of the Smoby Group, contacted the owner of MGA, Isaac Larian. He wanted to buy shares in the company. Later, he allegedly committed fraud, money laundering and embezzled hundreds of millions of Euros from the toymaker.
MGA claims that it has been a victim of fraud and money laundering by Breuil. They are seeking $150,000 in statutory damages, as well as legal fees.
Mattel's lawsuit alleges that MGA infringed its copyrights, as well as its trademarks. The court is examining if the dolls have an infringement on the trade dress. A trade dress is the look of a product.
The dolls' features are unprotected, including their high cheekbones, large lips, and large heads. Moreover, the court is determining whether Bratz dolls are substantially similar to the sketches and sculpts that Bryant produced while working for Mattel.
This is not the first time that Zuru has been involved in a lawsuit. Earlier this year, a Texas court awarded the company US$29 million in a suit against MGA. Afterward, the company asked the court to dismiss MGA's claims.
The case was then reversed by the Ninth Circuit. It determined that the jury instructions were erroneous, and that the decision was based on an overbroad injunction.
MGA was successful in its trademark lawsuit, but failed in its copyright lawsuit. It is attempting to recover the money it lost from the sale of its property. As a result, the company is facing a loss of $300 million.
The case was decided by a federal judge. He sided with T.I. and his wife.
The couple tried to settle privately with the toymaker. However, they were surprised when the dolls hit the shelves in 2019. So they are suing MGA.
Although the trial date has not been announced, the lawsuit will likely continue in the near future. If it goes ahead, MGA Entertainment is aiming to receive a permanent injunction on the sale of the toy.
The lawsuit filed by rapper TI and his wife, Tameka "Tiny" Harris, against toymaker MGA Entertainment Inc. claims that the toymaker illegally used their stepdaughter's likeness to create dolls. According to the lawsuit, the dolls were designed to look similar to the former girl group. In addition, the lawsuit alleges that the dolls violated intellectual property rights.
During the trial, Tiny and TI sat for opening statements, but the pair failed to testify. However, they did sign a declaration stating that they supported their mother and stepdad's claims. And they also tried to settle privately with MGA.
The attorneys for MGA claimed that the testimony harmed the jury's ability to properly evaluate the case. They argued that it was impossible to erase the emotional impact of the hearing. Their argument hinged on the idea that the testimony about stealing ideas from the Black community was irreparably biased.
But the court said that evidence of cultural appropriation was too subjective to be considered in this case. As a result, testimony from a witness who claimed that MGA "dolls looked like Xscape girls" was prohibited.
A key part of the lawsuit, however, centers on the OMG LOL Surprise Dolls. MGA's attorney said that the dolls have similarities to the former girl group, including the name, outfits, and hairstyle. Despite the fact that the dolls' names and looks mirrored OMG Girls, the MGA attorney claimed that the toymaker was legally entitled to use the likeness of TI and Tiny for the dolls' promotion.
In addition to the trademark lawsuit, BMG is also seeking damages for the infringement. It's seeking $10 million in damages as well as legal fees.
MGA Entertainment allegedly copied the look of the former girl group, and it's not the first time the toymaker has been accused of such a claim. The company is a defendant in a similar lawsuit that was brought by another former member of the group, Lil Wayne's daughter Reginae Carter.
Earlier this week, a judge in the case decided to throw out a portion of the trial, saying that the testimony about the dolls' resemblance to the former group was too inflammatory. This decision means the trial will likely be rescheduled for another trial.
If you were wondering whether or not Memphis Police officers involved in the beating death of Tyre Nicho have been fired, you should know that five of them have been. And they will likely be facing charges. In fact, it appears that a second-degree murder charge may be filed against a Memphis police officer who is suspected of killing Nicho.
Video footage shows Tyre Nicho being beaten by five Memphis police officers. The video, which was captured by body cameras worn by the police officers, shows a chaotic and brutal moment of police brutality.
Police Chief Cerelyn Davis said that the video is the worst she has seen in her career. She added that the physical interaction between officers is at an entirely different level than is required in law enforcement.
Five of the officers involved in the arrest were fired for violating department policies. Shelby County District Attorney Steve Mulroy said the video will be released to the public later this week.
A woman in the video says that she felt her stomach hurt as the police beat her son. She also cried for her daughter. But Nichols was not seen in the first part of the footage.
Nichols had been pulled over for a traffic violation. He was a 29-year-old Black man. His family has called for charges against the police officers who beat him.
The family retained the services of civil rights attorney Ben Crump and attorney Antonio Romanucci. They reviewed the video before it was publicly released.
On Saturday, Donald Trump called the attack on Nichols terrible. Several governors have called for accountability. President Joe Biden called for peaceful protests.
Protests are planned across the country. Governors in Detroit, Boston, Seattle, Chicago and Portland are among those calling for an investigation. Meanwhile, the United States Department of Justice announced a civil rights investigation into the incident.
The video is filled with profanity and exclamations. One officer repeatedly hits Nichols in the face, and another appears to strike him with a baton. Other officers yell at Nichols and threaten to harm him.
The beating lasted at least three minutes. Nichols was laying on the pavement for about 20 minutes before an ambulance arrived. At one point, a person is heard saying that it will be awhile before an ambulance arrives.
An ambulance is then brought into the frame, but it doesn't arrive for nearly two minutes. It's then revealed that the police officers have pepper sprayed the victim.
The family of Tyre Nicho have asked the Memphis police department to release body camera footage. They said the video showed officers beating Nicho during an arrest.
But despite their call for a video release, the city is still not ready. Officials say they cannot produce the video of the traffic stop.
On January 7, Nichols was returning home from a suburban park when he was stopped for a traffic violation. He was taken to the hospital in critical condition. As he lay there, he repeatedly called for his mother to help him.
Nichols was a 29-year-old Black man. He had been stopped for reckless driving. Several other officers were also involved in the arrest. One officer claimed that Nichols went for his weapon.
When he was arrested, Nichols was beaten and pepper-sprayed. According to preliminary findings, he suffered serious injuries, and some of his wounds were consistent with those seen in the video of his fatal encounter with police.
After the video of his arrest was released, activists expected the Memphis police department to enact the kind of action they had been calling for. The department had suspended five officers from their jobs while they were investigated.
However, they are now being relieved of their duties. Two firefighters are also being relieved of their duties, pending an internal investigation.
Meanwhile, the Memphis Police Association has declined to comment on the firings. Chief Cerelyn Davis has promised to be "cooperative" with investigations. She has called the incident "incomprehensible."
In response to the release of the body camera video, President Joe Biden has called for peaceful protests. The US Department of Justice is conducting a civil rights investigation, and the FBI has opened a separate civil rights investigation.
President Biden has spoken with the Nichols family today. He says he will make a case to Congress to pass the George Floyd Act. This act is designed to fight police misconduct.
Last week, Atlanta saw its own demonstrations. Although the city was braced for potential unrest, authorities are confident that the event will be contained.
Cobb County law enforcement officials offered condolences to the family of Tyre Nichols, a man killed while serving a warrant in his home in Marietta, Georgia. The sheriff's office said the incident is the second time an officer has been killed while on duty in the county. It also came one day after a two-day manhunt by law enforcement agencies in the metro Atlanta area ended in the death of a man who had a gun pointed at him.
The sheriff's office also said there is more to the tale than meets the eye. For instance, they have been in touch with the wives of the fallen deputies. In addition to extending their condolences, the sheriff's office has tapped into the community to make sure the funerals of the two men are properly attended. They have even been assisted by the FBI in their quest to identify the alleged assassin.
It should come as no surprise that the sheriff's office ascribes a high level of credit to the efforts of law enforcement in neighboring metro Atlanta counties. One of the largest counties in the state, Cobby County is a place where more than 760,000 people reside. With the news of the murders of two law enforcement officers in the same community, tensions have skyrocketed and authorities are on high alert. Despite the fact that the sheriff's office has not yet identified the perpetrators, the department has already announced that 1,000 National Guard troops are on standby.
Aside from the tragic death of a Cobb County deputy, the sheriff's office is under attack from two suspects. This includes an alleged shooter, a suspected burglar and the wife of a police officer who was killed while responding to a domestic violence call. Among the occupants of the house are two children of the former deputies, who were shot in the line of duty.
While the sheriff's office has been a quiet operation since the incident, the public is paying attention. The sheriff's office has received an outpouring of support from the community. Several organizations have pledged to provide assistance to the families of the fallen. Those organizations include the Cobb County NAACP and the National Sheriffs Association.
Five former Memphis, Tennessee, police officers have been charged with second-degree murder in the beating death of Tyre Nicho. The family of Nichols has condemned the actions of the five men, saying they beat the 29-year-old so badly that he was unrecognizable.
Nichols' family says the video shows the police beating him for three minutes. He can be heard crying for his mother during the brutal assault.
An independent autopsy found Nichols suffered extensive bleeding from the severe beating. Attorneys for the family compared the incident to the 1991 Rodney King beating. They also say the attack was especially heinous because the officers were Black.
President Joe Biden extended his condolences to the Nichols family. A candlelight vigil was held at the skate park in Memphis. Several dozen supporters attended. Activists and clergy led the group in prayer.
Police Chief Cecilyn Davis said the incident is the worst she has seen in her career. She called the beating "a callous disregard for life." One officer screamed profanities at Nichols. Another officer kicked him in the head.
Three days after the incident, Nichols died. Shelby County District Attorney Steve Mulroy said the officers involved in the stop were members of the Memphis SCORPION Unit. All five were charged with second-degree murder.
In addition to charges of second-degree murder, the five men are charged with official misconduct. All five were sacked. However, two EMS workers were suspended until their investigations are completed.
Attorneys for the family have praised the charges against the officers. Nichols' stepfather, Rodney Wells, was among the supporters at the candlelight vigil. During the vigil, activists and clergy led the group in prayer.
The video, which is expected to be released Friday evening, will show the police beating Tyre Nichols during a traffic stop earlier this month. It will include bodycam footage and surveillance video. The police department expects the release of the video to spark protests.
Nichols' family hopes that the video will bring peace. But the family is not convinced that the officers acted properly.
Nichols was an avid skateboarder. He loved to take pictures. His parents have urged the community to remain peaceful while the investigation continues.
