Chiaki Nanami is a young schoolgirl that moves in with her mother and grandmother to escape her father. She’s shy and timid, but she enjoys drawing in ink. Chiaki is actually a computer “hacker” responsible for the string of hacks in the series.

Since Chiaki's husband, Kaori, left for England, Chiaki has been looking for ways to make money in order to live by herself. One day, she found herself in an auction house where she picked up a stash of old horoscopes from a former owner.

In Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony's non-canon Ultimate Talent Development Plan, Chiaki is very close with Hajime as well and their relationship is based on the one they had in Danganronpa 3. Despite that fact, the event's "canonical" timeline showed a lot of inconsistency, to the point that whether she is the AI, the human Chiaki, or some blend of both, is difficult to discern. In the Konami game, she is a member of the group that is trying to reach "Hades" and none of the team members had seen the slightest glimpse of it. She is quite friendly and informative when interacted with, but is also impatient and can be rash when needed to be. When the player goes up to her, she greets them using her voice sound, showcased in the Japanese text. This can be translated to "What is it"?
