two hour plus interview with 9 people in successive groups of two culminating with the VP of that department. Interviewers were for the most part friendly, but I felt they should have provided more up front information regarding possible salary etc., when asking for that much of a time commitment. The questions were pretty unconventional and included a lot of "thought experiment" questions. I was also asked to complete an exam for SQL after I had said I had experience using queries as opposed to creating them. I had also completed a SQL test online for a previous interview. The primary issue with this was the fact that I had not brought my glasses so I could barely see it. I suppose I should have been prepared, but one is typically informed ahead of time should there be testing involved during an interview. I had to request water because I literally began to dry up towards the end. My final interview with the VP was close to the end of the business day and after a half day of work and two hours of interviewing I felt pretty shot through. He asked me a regulatory question that I absolutely knew the answer to, but I completely blanked. It was a little much. They jokingly referred to it as "the gauntlet" and that's accurate. I feel like this type of interview should either be somewhat abridged or reserved for candidates for which they are considering offering the job.
