All Star Futures Game 2017 Roster

The All Star Futures Game is an annual Major League Baseball game that was first played in 1945. It is traditionally played on the same date as the Major League Baseball All-Star Game. The game is not officially sanctioned by Major League Baseball and does not carry the weight as the All-Star Game does. The game, however, usually attracts the largest share of the MLB's fanbase, who are traditionally not as interested in the All-Star Game.

Derek Fisher is one of the most interesting outfielders on the U.S. roster. He struck out 286 times in 252 games in his first two full pro seasons, but he also managed 43 home runs and 59 steals. Fisher has perhaps the best true power in the Astros' organization. He has the speed to play center field but his arm is weak for the position. He played almost exclusively in left field during a weeklong stint with the Astros in mid-June.

The lone bullpen-only arm on the roster, Herget is having himself a season. The 2015 sixth-rounder has been a closer for the duration of his professional tenure. He converted 15 saves in rookie ball and his total has run up to to 59 with a 2.29 ERA and 1.09 WHIP. He likes to punch out batters and could have a high leverage role in the Reds bullpen before long. (Source: www.minorleagueball.com)
