Craigslist, the world’s largest classifieds site, is hosting a unique event in San Francisco, a "day of fear" on Wednesday, November 6 where people are encouraged to interact with each other without technology. The intention is to gain a deeper understanding of life without screens, both by experiencing it and creating physical content to share.

On August 1, 2004, Craigslist began charging $25 to post job openings on the New York and Los Angeles pages. In June 2009, "Weird Al" Yankovic released a song entitled "Craigslist", which parodied the types of ads one might see on the site.
