Currently in his 12th NBA season, Wesley Matthews is a shooting guard for the Los Angeles Lakers. The Wisconsin native joined the Lakers just ahead of the 2020-21 season after playing a season with the Milwaukee Bucks (2019-20) and a max contract deal with the Dallas Mavericks (2015-19). Matthews has also played for the Utah Jazz, Portland Trail Blazers, New York Knicks, and Indiana Pacers in his NBA tenure. His legacy extends to Marquette University where he is only the 22nd player in school history to combine for over 1,000 points and 500 rebounds. Matthews also remains the University's all-time leader in free throws made, ranks eighth all-time in scoring and third in games played. In 2019, Marquette honored Matthews with his own bobble head and night dedicated to his career. A true leader in the Wisconsin community, Matthews is constantly giving back through time and resources to combat the state’s most pressing issues, including social injustice, clothing and food donations.
