Uriah Shelton is still in his early 20s, but he’s already gotten lots of experience in the acting world. Since making his first on screen appearance in 2007, he has made it very clear that he has what it takes to keep up with more experience actors. Uriah is best-known for his role as Joshua Matthews in the Disney series Girl Meets World. Although the show lasted for just three seasons, it helped Uriah gain exposure to a wide audience and helped open the door to more opportunities. In 2019, he landed a role in the Hulu series, Looking for Alaska which was based on the novel of the same name. Uriah Shelton got his start in the world of acting at the ripe age of four. Shelton's acting career began with roles in the series "Monk" (2001-09), "Without A Trace" (CBS, 2002-09) and "The Ghost Whisperer" (CBS, 2005-2010). He also appeared in the TV movie "The Nanny Express" (Hallmark Channel, 2008-09). He continued to work steadily in television dramas throughout the early 2000s, appearing on "Trust Me" (TNT, 2008-09), "Justified" (FX, 2009-2015) and "The Glades" (A&E Network, 2009-2013). He also appeared in "Trauma" (NBC, 2009-2010). More recently, he tackled roles on "Franklin & Bash" (TNT, 2010-14) and "Last Man Standing" (ABC, 2011-). Uriah Shelton is an American actor and singer best known for portraying ‘Jeff Cargill’ in the popular crime-drama series ‘The Glades.’ Shelton is also famous for portraying ‘Joshua Matthews’ in the comedy series ‘Girl Meets World.’ After starting his acting career at the age of 10, Shelton went on to play the lead in the feature film ‘Lifted.’ He is also a popular web-series actor and is currently playing an important role in a web series titled ‘Blue.’ Shelton is also an aspiring singer and hopes to make it big in the music industry. Uriah Shelton was born on March 10, 1997 in Dallas, Texas. One month later his family moved him to Magnolia Springs, Alabama, a small river community about 40 miles south of Mobile. Growing up, Uriah pursued interests in martial arts, piano, and soccer. At the age of seven, he took a modeling class with his cousin, Charli. This led to a talent competition in Orlando, after which he was pursued by multiple agencies in New York and Los Angeles. Realizing that he'd come to love acting, he and his mother decided to move to Los Angeles to embark upon his professional career. He immediately began working in commercials but also focused on his love of martial arts, which resulted in him becoming the 2006 ATA Tae Kwon Do California State Champion in all categories, including sparring and extreme weapons. Having accomplished his goal Uriah returned his full attention to acting, where he began working on TV shows, including Without a Trace, The Ghost Whisperer, Mad TV, Dirty Sexy Money, The Suite Life, Monk, Trust Me, Trauma, Hallmark's The Nanny Express, and the independent feature Alabama Moon. He also had the lead role of Henry Matthews in Lifted, written and directed by Lexi Alexander (Green Street Hooligans, Punisher: War Zone), in which he plays a young singing sensation alongside music greats Ruben Studdard and Trace Adkins. Most recently, he played the lead character's love interest in the well-reviewed slasher horror comedy Freaky (2020). Uriah trains in wushu, XMA (Extreme Martial Arts), guitar, ballet, and hip hop.
