TSA Atlanta wait time

Tsa Atlanta is one of the most well-known landmarks in Atlanta, Georgia. They are known for their wide variety of events, hosting concerts of all types, sporting events, and more, for the greater Atlanta area.

ATL is the busiest airport in the world. As this is the case, you would think that the airport would have many security checkpoints and long security lines. The reality is there’s only one checkpoint for international travelers, and on main checkpoint (with 2 sub-checkpoints: North and South). And the good news is most of the checkpoints use “smart lanes” that speed the screening process tremendously. The hours shown below are subject to change.

ATLANTA >> A passenger facing a search at the Atlanta airport’s main security checkpoint lunged into a bag and grabbed a firearm, and the gun went off, causing chaos among travelers and prompting a temporary groundstop on flights to the airport Saturday afternoon, federal authorities said. ATL TSA wait times can be cut down considerably if you participate in the TSA Pre program. You can even sign up for TSA PreCheck before your next ATL flight - there’s an enrollment center located on Concourse A, near Gate A19 for ticketed passengers. According to the TSA, the enrollment center is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM and 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Another enrollment center is located before security in the Terminal South ticketing area, this is open from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM on Saturday's only. (Source: www.ifly.com)

The Transportation Security Administration has procedures in place at airport checkpoints to prevent accidental weapon discharges like the one that sent passengers at Hartsfield-Jackson International scrambling on Saturday. But that protocol wasn’t followed because it wasn’t immediately clear from X-ray images that TSA officers were dealing with a firearm. (Source: www.ajc.com)
