Travis Medford

History: Travis Medford got his start as a child actor in the 1990s, his face becoming most well-known as the cherubic young tyke in the Welch's TV Commercials. A resident of Garland, Texas (not far from the birthplace of George McFarland, his predecessor), he went on to other films and TV roles after his Rascals experience, graduating from Athens High School in 2006 and from Trinity Valley Community College in 2008 with an Associates Degree in the Liberal Arts.)

I’ve said that people have dropped off the map before, but some of them do so on purpose for whatever reason they want to cite, and trying to get them to open up about their time on screen might not be too tough, but it’s likely that they might not want to talk about it all the time. Travis Tel ford played the role of Spanky in the 1994 movie, and I’ve got to say it since now I’m feeling a bit old, but the original Spanky, George McFarland, passed away just a year before this movie was released, which is kind of interesting, to be honest. A lot of people would gladly claim that Travis was a valuable part of The Little Rascals back in the 90s, as this was his first big crack at acting. Unfortunately it didn’t really lead anywhere as far as his career goes, since he had a few other roles not long after this and a couple later on in the 2000s, but apart from that, things didn’t really work out the way he would have liked. These days his social media accounts are private, and it sounds as though Travis is a marketing professional, but there’s not a lot more than this that’s available unless a person toes looking.

You'll Barely Recognize Spanky From Little Rascals Now

The family comedy Little Rascals was released all the way back in 1994 and follows a group of neighborhood boys in a no-girls club dubbed the "He-Man Woman Haters Club." They're preparing for an upcoming Soap Box Derby go-kart race and one of the kids in the club, Alfalfa (Bug Hall), is set to drive the prize-winning go-kart, "The Blur." But when he stops showing up for the club, the other members discover that Alfalfa has a secret girlfriend, Darla (Brittany Ashley Holmes), which is against the club's policies. It's then up to Alfalfa's best friend and club president Spunky, played by Travis Medford, to track down Alfalfa, sabotage his romance, and make sure the team can enter their go-kart race. The results are, unsurprisingly, hilarious and adorable.

Travis Tedford's career started with his role as Spunky in Little Rascals and was shortly followed by a run as one of Welch's "spokes-tykes" (via The New York Times). In the commercial, a 5-year-old Medford holds a glass of Welch's grape juice and informs the viewer that the "concord grapes give it a taste you can feel in your cheeks." Following the commercial, Medford had a handful of other acting roles, including providing the voice of the ant children in Pixar's A Bug's Life. He also appeared on a couple of early 2000s shows, such as the ensemble sketch comedy show All That and the Amanda Bynes-starring The Amanda Show. Medford did more voice work on the animated show and Disney hidden gem Recess, as well.
