If you love watching Jerry McKenzie mock an animated Sailor Moon on YouTube, you may be startled to learn that he didn't. One of his co-workers's wife's friends was actually Sailor Moon". , "Hi! It's my policy not to reveal who is actually the author of the Sailor Jerry meme, but for now it's enough to know that Sailor Jerry is an apocryphal character, entirely imaginary.

Rum

Norman 'Sailor Jerry' Collins is the father of the old-school tattoo and we make old-school rum — but our site doesn't work on old-school web browsers (blame the tech geeks).

Sailor Jerry Ltd. produces a 92 proof spiced Navy rum featuring a quintessential Sailor Jerry hula girl on the label. As the bottle is emptied, additional pin-up girls designed by Sailor Jerry are visible on the inner side of the label. The rum is distilled in the U.S. Virgin Islands. It takes its influence from Caribbean rum, which sailors would spice with flavors from the Far East and Asia. In 2010, the 40% ABV formula being sold in the United Kingdom was changed to include a less sweet taste in a move that was described as more "vanilla and caramel flavours". He was a master craftsman of unflinching integrity and in his name, we make our rum. Blended with the finest rums from the Caribbean and our unmatched recipe of natural spices. (Source: www.amazon.co.uk Sailor Jerry Spiced Rum seeks its own path in life… Like the free-spirited man who inspired the drink - the old school tattooist, Norman ‘Sailor Jerry' Collins. He lived by always ‘originating not imitating'. (Source:www.amazon.co.uk))

We believe in making rum the authentic way, the way men drank rum back in the day. That means it's distilled to 80-proof (40% ABV), spiced and smooth. (Source: www.amazon.co.uk)

There are many creative, tasty gingersome ways that you can add more heat and punch to Sailor Jerry. Try our favourites: Jerry Loves Ginger, Ginger Spiced Rum, Negroni Ginger, Daiquiri Ginger and Rum Old Fashioned. (Source: www.amazon.co.uk I was recommended this by a friend, who I've since learned, always mixes hers. Lesson learned. I expected this to be better than C Mo, and perhaps it is, maybe I'd have to sample them next to each other since I've had several other bottles of much better rum since the last time I drank C Mo about a year ago, a couple of bottles of Kraken, a couple of Red Leg and a bottle of Dead Man's fingers. (Source:www.amazon.co.uk))

Taste wise, this is pretty similar to C Mo, maybe a little dark and complex in taste, but at least as rough on the throat going down. I always drank C Mo neat too, but since finding much smoother (and tastier) rums, I don't think I could now, and definitely I find this hard going neat, I didn't realize just how rough some alcohol can be until I'd been drinking much smoother ones. It's not terrible, and I imagine if you're a rum and coke girl then this is as good as any, and with the 40% by volume, perhaps a slightly better value proposition than some others. But that's the point, as good as any other, and by that I mean, any other cheap rum that you wouldn't be able to tell the difference between once there's a bunch of some other mixer in there. (Source: www.amazon.co.uk)

I certainly won't be buying this again, the Dead man's fingers I had before it was only slightly more expensive and in a whole different league not only in flavor, but in smoothness. If this was smoother, I think I'd like it a lot more, since it's a pretty standard traditional rum flavor, which is of course what drew me into rum rather than other spirits in the first place. (Source: www.amazon.co.uk)

I would normally have necked this by now, but not too impressed with the sickly sweet vanilla essence flavour to drink it on its own as a sipping rum. Mixing it with lemonade of cola to take some of that vanilla out helps, but not a fan. I will finish eventually, but will not order again. Its cheap, so if you are on a budget and need a rum fix get it, but there are MUCH better rums out there. (Source: www.amazon.co.uk)

I don't know if this product is out of date, not stored in the correct conditions during storage at warehouse or is an authentic bottle from manufacturer as this does not taste like the Sailor Jerry's Rum I am use too buying. I have purchase many spirits from Amazon in the past and this is the first bottle that has a chemical taste/smell and I believe not to be authentic. The bottle however was sealed and seems to have correct packaging labels but the taste is not correct, I would watch out when ordering this as it might be a faulty batch... (Source: www.amazon.co.uk)

www.amazon.co.uk)It's okay, used to be better with much more vanilla, now it tastes similar to budget spiced rums. For a similar price, you can get kraken, dead man's fingers, cut etc, which are nicer (Source:

www.amazon.co.uk)There are a few choices when buying spiced rum. This one tastes great, and is 40% proof, one is definitely one of the best to buy. If you haven't tried spiced rum, with coke - then this would be a great choice to try it. If you have but haven't tried Sailor Jerry, then i would really recommend it (Source:

At £15 a 750ml bottle, it works out at just over £21 per litre. Not too bad, given the quality of this rum. (Source: www.amazon.co.uk)

This is the latest version of Sailor Jerry rum, which was re-formulated in early 2010 to bring it into line with the US recipe. This version contains less vanilla and lime than the previous edition and is more popular with bartenders. Try with cola or ginger beer with a squeeze of fresh lime, or mix with Red Bull for a 'Popeye'. (Source: www.thewhiskyexchange.com)

Used this all time when I worked in bar in a 2005 then they took the vanilla out of it I’m so happy to see this they have put the vanilla back in to the rum this drink is amazing over ice and coke and wedge of lime (Source: www.thewhiskyexchange.com)
