Overwatch 2 Release Date

If you’ve played Blizzard’s overwatch and been looking forward to the games next jam packed loot box please take caution. Blizzard has already started their marketing campaign, which is an attempt to reach the huge audience the game will have post release date.

News

Morgan has been writing for PC Gamer since 2018, first as a freelancer and currently as a staff writer. He has also appeared on Polygon, Kotaku, Fanbyte, and PCGamesN. Before freelancing, he spent most of high school and all of college writing at small gaming sites that didn't pay him. He's very happy to have a real job now. Morgan is a beat writer following the latest and greatest shooters and the communities that play them. He also writes general news, reviews, features, the occasional guide, and bad jokes in Slack. Twist his arm, and he'll even write about a boring strategy game. Please don't, though.

Blizzard still refused to give us a firm release date for Overwatch 2 at 2021’s BlizzCon event. The only news we got regarding the game’s launch was confirmation that it won’t be coming this year. In November, however, some disappointing news hit that both Overwatch 2 and Diablo 4 had been delayed. Getting delayed before even having a release window leads us, and many others, to believe that Overwatch 2 may not come around until 2023. (Source: www.digitaltrends.com)

Need

Blizzard also stated its intention to revamp modes as needed. Game director Jeff Kaplan suggested, for instance, that the unpopular two capture point mode may be gone forever in Overwatch 2. It may be replaced by a new mode that Blizzard feels confident in like Push. We didn't hear anything more about the robot-on-robot Push mode at BlizzCon 2021.

But current players are being left wanting. Overwatch is in a state of hibernation when it comes to new heroes, maps and major gameplay updates (though there have been frequent balance changes and admittedly welcome features throughout the rest of the game). It really needs new characters and maps at this point, so fingers crossed my PVP prediction pans out. (Source: www.forbes.com)
