Los Angeles to portland

Three friends from Los Angeles looking for a place to live. They wanted an authentic place with a bit of personality. They wanted city living but also wanted a secluded and quiet neighborhood to feel secure and safe. They wanted to afford their dream of living in Oregon. They found the perfect home in Portland—a three-bedroom home with a huge backyard and even a koi pond. The house was highly affordable and only 5 miles from downtown. With very few neighbors in their secluded neighborhood, the three friends were left to enjoy the

FLIGHT

Cons: "Apparent aggressiveness to get as many carry on bags paid for by the ground staff measuring with a measuring tape all bags. I've never seen anything like it. My bag was fine. Then, when they started to take fees you had to come back and pay. It wasn't done right then. The ground staff was minimally helpful. Flight amenities or not, pay for headset and having more than 2 TV shows and 2 movies cost you an up charge even on an overseas flight. One choice for dinner.- pasta so it was vegetarian. Breakfast was a sad roll, one small piece of cheese and ham, and fruit that was that questionable. Overnight flight, pillow no blanket in Economy. Seats hard and leg room was tight. Their Economy plus and business looked a much better way to go."

Cons: "Got to the gate about 20 min before flight. The gate attendant got a bad customer service attitude when I questioned why we couldn't board flight. We were a little late because our flight from Taipei was an hour late. She did schedule us at 6 am on another flight which made an interesting (painful) night with 3 boys under the age of 6. Nowhere did it state that boarding was closed 30 minutes prior to the flight. Bad experience - late night ...small kids... no food or drink available...surley gate person..no notice of the boarding policy...just a very bad experience." (Source: www.kayak.com)

FLY

Cons: "LAX security is awful. We never left the airport (arrived LAX from Sydney AU) yet were forced thru security again. Had to remove shoes, was scanned and "frisked" by TSA to get to Denver. To go to Australia, Denver TSA waived the removal of shoes, skipped the scan for the metal detector and no one touched me, ditto for LAX on the trip to Sydney. Where's the uniformity or standards for TSA?? Why did I have to be subjected to this garbage on the way home?? This is why I despise flying. It makes no sense to me. This ruined what was a great vacation."

Cons: "This was an almost 6 hour long flight, LAX to OGG. The aircraft was older and for a 6 hour flight, they really should use a bigger and newer aircraft. The entertainment systems on the back of the seat worked sporadically and the PA system was too loud and every time the PA system was used while we had our headsets on, it was excruciating We had no warning in order to remove our headsets before it blasted into our ears. We were amazed that after paying a considerable sum for our tickets and being in the air for 6 hours, there was limited meal service and we were required to purchase a sandwich in order to eat. I fly Delta frequently and this was by far the worse flight I can remember." (Source: www.kayak.com)
