Diet pills and airfare: these are two things that we all want, but seem hard to find. Who can help me find them?Flying is the fastest way to get from Los Angeles to Palm Springs, but it most definitely is not cheap. Whereas bus tickets start at $14, a flight would easily set you back $200 to $300 (even more during the summer). Traveling by air is not as practical, but it does attract those with a more flexible budget because it takes only an hour to get from Los Angeles International Airport (or, alternatively, the smaller Hawthorne Municipal Airport) to Palm Springs International. However, this doesn't include the time it takes to check bags and clear security.

AIRPORT

Union Station is the main train station in Los Angeles and the largest railroad passenger terminal in the Western United States. The station was opened in 1939 and has become one of California’s busiest transportation hubs, serving more than 100 thousand passengers per day. Every Amtrak route that goes through Los Angeles stops at Union Station. In addition, the area around the station serves as the main bus stop for several bus carriers that conduct trips in and out of the city. Located in Downtown LA, Union Station offers easy transit connections to other parts of the city via three Metro Rail lines and one Metro Busway line, as well as a shuttle service to LAX airport. Union Station also serves as the main LA hub for six lines of Metrolink, Southern California’s primary commuter rail service.

Another transportation option from LAX to Palm Springs is by bus. There are two bus companies that travel between the airport and Palm Springs; the Flixbus and Greyhound. The cheapest and fastest bus option is on the Flixbus, however, the bus does not leave directly from the airport. You will firstly have to make your way to Union Station in LA city centre. The buses run several times per day and take you to downtown Palm Springs and Palm Springs North. The trip takes about two hours and makes no stops. Your second bus option is to take a Greyhound bus, which departs from the bus station in downtown Los Angeles and make several stops along the way. The average commute takes about three hours and the buses only depart once a day (times vary). (Source:www.welcomepickups.com)

TRAVEL

This is a relatively short flight in a private plane, but you might be planning to book a commercial flight. In that case, your travel time would really need to include how many minutes to get to your local airport, wait for security, board and taxi on the runway, land at the other airport, and get to your destination. Scroll down to see a more realistic calculation that takes into account all these factors to get a more accurate estimate of your actual flight time.

In the quick calculation above, we assumed you had a private plane and just wanted to know the time in the air from city to city. But for most of us, we're going to be flying on a commercial airline (whether it's first class or coach). So that means we really need to account for all the extra travel time getting to the airport, waiting for our flight, and making it to the destination. (Source: www.trippy.com)
