Larry Fleet has been a content marketing specialist for over a decade. He has published three books on the topic, has learned and applied over 100,000 marketing examples from his blog and his content marketing consulting clients. And the best part: he loves it!
The White Bluff, Tenn., native now based in Chattanooga signed to Big Loud Records in 2019 and released his debut single to country radio, "Where I Find God," in the fall of 2020. It won't take you long to notice Fleet's talent, not just as you listen to his first single but also when he performs live shows, just himself and an acoustic guitar. That soulful, gritty and real identity comes through, too, on his debut album, Workin’ Hard.
Despite considering himself a songwriter first, Fleet told Country Swag that he never had any intention of writing every track on his album, but that it happened authentically. “There are so many good songwriters in Nashville, and my thing is that you don’t have to write every song, but it just worked out that way,” he says. “I’m trying to put out honest, simple songs that mean something and connects with people. The way it worked out, we cut all the ones I was a writer on because it fit me for who I am.” (Source: countryswag.com)
Throughout 2009 & 2010, Larry Fleet play almost every Friday night at The Wet Bar in Dickson, TN as well as at a bar called Evolution. It was in these two venues that Larry really developed and matured as an artist. Later, he chose to move to Nashville, Tennessee in pursuit of a country music career. During this time he worked as a radio promoter and electrician in order to support himself. In 2017, country singer Jake Owen discovered Fleet performing cover songs at a wedding, and booked him as an opening act. Fleet also competed on Real Country, a singing competition on the USA Network where Owen serves as a judge. He placed second on the show, which led to him recording a number of independent releases prior to signing with Big Loud.
"There is plenty of guys like me — I guess the bigger we are, the more emotional and in touch we are with our emotions," laughs Fleet, who debuts a stunning new version of "Where I Find God" on PEOPLE Thursday. "When we write these songs, it's all about writing something that is, you know, our life. But I'll tell you what… that song still chokes me up. And then people start singing these sorts of songs back to you and it gets to be a real emotional thing." (Source: people.com)
