Lake Gregory

Lake Gregory has frozen over for only the second time in the last 40 years. The last time the lake froze over was on January 19th, 2004, when ice measurements were 13 inches deep. Temperatures have been well below freezing during the past week and this will have a significant impact on the lake in the coming months.

Day

The dog park is on the South Shore (including a separate one for smaller dogs). Lake Gregory is dog-friendly and offers a 2.7-mile fitness trail to explore. Dogs must be on a leash. Throughout the day you will see many dogs hike the lakeside trail or swim as they go.

Day Use Education Excursion Program. Groups with 20 or more youths sponsored by established public or private institutions (such as schools, churches, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, YMCA, YWCA) are eligible for a group rate providing a confirmed, paid (if applicable) reservation is made with the park 48 hours in advance of arrival: (Source: parks.sbcounty.gov)

Event

Reminder: Although we are a dog-friendly recreation spot, dogs are not allowed on the beach, at events or in any of the gated areas, except for service animals with proper registration and training. We do have a gated dog park for large and smaller dogs and dogs are welcome on the trails (on leash).
