John F. Kennedy, Jr. was an American businessman, journalist, and naval officer. He was the only son of President John F. Kennedy. He served on the nine-man crew of an aircraft called the PT-109 that was rammed by a Japanese destroyer during World War II. His older brother, Senator Edward M. Kennedy, was assassinated in 1963. Kennedy was himself assassinated in 1963 while running for the U.S. presidency.
