Once blended, all you have to do is strain out the pulp for a smooth and silky milk. I use a nut milk bag (like this one) to make sure I get every piece of pulp, but you could also use a fine mesh strainer if you don’t need it silky-smooth.

Homemade Almond Milk Recipe

This almond milk is so creamy and flavorful, you'll want to drink it on its own. Store-bought almond milk is convenient, but homemade almond milk is relatively easy to make and less expensive too. Plus, making your own almond milk at home allows you to control sweeteners and other additives. Apart from the dates, which are inherently sweet, this recipe is unsweetened--add a little honey, maple or agave syrup for sweetness, if desired

This worked well using my Ninja blender and an ikea dish towel (the thin white ones with the red stripe) as a nut milk bag. I soaked my almonds for 24 hrs, blanching by peeling them easily by hand after the soak, before use. I used vanilla bean paste, dates, and a pinch of salt and it was lovely in my morning coffee. I froze the leftover skins and almond grounds in the freezer for use in oatmeal. THANKS minimalist baker! Hi! I tried it and I have grainy texture and the taste seems off- doesn’t taste like almond milk as much as really strong almonds. Did I do something wrong?
