JSTOR (Journal Storage Project) is an electronic archive of core scholarly journals, with an emphasis on the retrospective conversion of the entire backfiles of key journals. Over 246 academic journals cover the subject areas of African-American Studies, Anthropology, Asian Studies, Ecology, Economics, Education, Finance, History, Literature, Mathematics, Philosophy, Political Science, Population/Demography, Sociology, and Statistics. JSTOR coverage is defined by a 2 to 5 year "moving wall," which is the gap between the most recently published issue of a journal and the date the most recent issues are available in JSTOR. The Library subscribes to three JSTOR collections: Arts and Sciences I, Arts and Sciences II, and General Sciences.Provides in-depth analyses (written by journalists) of complex and controversial current events and social, political, economic, and international issues. Recent reports - Offshore Drilling ; Financial Industry Overhaul.

Each report includes an issue summary, historical perspective, a chronology, bibliography, and a pro-con feature. Coverage extends from 1991 to present. Library also has CQ Weekly and CQ Historic Documents Series online. DOE Information Bridge provides results of Department of Energy R&D in energy technologies, physics, chemistry, materials, biology, environmental cleanup, and more. It can be used to search and download full-text and/or bibliographic information since 1995. The Library maintains an extensive collection of older DOE technical reports on microfiche. As Georgia Tech Library has discovered, Syndetics Unbound can be an essential tool for helping your library to digitize their collection, providing a more enhanced library experience for users. Implementing elements such as Browse Shelf, Tags, Related Readings, or Book Display Widgets will help showcase your collection’s titles and aid in users search and engagementIn light of the current routine shut-downs and library closures, we might feel like we are well versed with this new online experience. However, well before the COVID-19 pandemic started, Georgia Tech Library was ahead of the curve, fully digitizing their collection and removing library stacks from their library.

Heather Jeffcoat from Georgia Tech Library explains how Browse Shelf helped their library with the move to virtual browsing.But the relocation of physical books isn't sitting well with everyone on campus. Rebekah Fitzsimmons, a postdoctoral fellow in Georgia Tech's School of Literature, Media, and Communication, said the move has affected the way she approaches teaching. Earlier this month, Georgia Tech put the finishing touches on the first phase of its Library Next project, an ambitious four-year plan to renovate the Georgia Tech Library with more seating space, rooms for student collaboration, multimedia studios, anGeorgia Tech recently finished the first phase of a major renovation to its campus library that resulted in more than 95% of its physical books being moved to an off-campus location.
