In today’s college football a team is only going to go as far as their quarterback will take them. That could not be any more true for the Georgia football team in 2021. Todd Monken schemed open at least one Georgia receiver on every one of Georgia’s passing plays last season. The problem was the execution from the quarterback position, more precisely their awareness. That execution did get better as the year progressed, mainly because of a quarterback change after the Florida loss. In that game, Georgia quarterbacks overthrew receivers on five different would-be touchdowns. In fact, 47 of the 183 passes attempted by Georgia football’s quarterbacks from the Arkansas game to the Florida game, were uncatchable and six more were thrown away.

Georgia football fans shouldn’t forget about Carson Beck as he is still on the roster and fighting for playing time. Even with the addition of Vandagriff and Bennett coming back, Beck has a year under his belt in Monken’s offense as well and could be in the mix to earn some snaps this season. Snaps were at a premium last year with a ten-game SEC schedule. Georgia football was a competent quarterback away from possibly being undefeated in 2020. That will not be a problem in 2021 as JT Daniels is most likely going to be the starter. Daniels didn’t play until the seventh game of the season in 2020, but he made an immediate impact. In the six games, Daniels was out due to injury, Georgia averaged 249.6 passing yards per game. In the four games, Daniels started, Georgia averaged 310.75 passing yards per game.
