2015 has gone down in history as one of the most transformative years in the solar industry. Historically, installers have always faced difficulties in imagining the solar power they are installing on the roof today on the roof tomorrow. The situation has reached a breaking point, and solar industry has begun exploring ways to form the future “Eclipse 2021”.

YEAR

Kind of. It’s actually the longest partial lunar eclipse in a millennium, clocking in at 3 hours, 28 minutes and 23 seconds. There hasn’t been a longer partial lunar eclipse since February 18, 1440 (3 hours, 28 minutes, 46 seconds) and it will remain the longest partial lunar eclipse for 648 years until February 8, 2669 (3 hours, 30 minutes, and 2 seconds). There will be a longertotal lunar eclipse on November 8, 2022. (Source: moon.nasa.gov)

May 26, 2021 brings the “most super” of this year’s supermoons, and on top of that, a total lunar eclipse. (Source: moon.nasa.gov Between four and seven times a year, Earth, Moon and Sun line up just right to create the cosmic-scale shadow show known as an eclipse. (Source:moon.nasa.gov))

The eclipse takes place 1.7 days before the moon reaches apogee (November 21 at 02:14 UTC), its farthest point from Earth for this month. For that reason, this is also the longest lunar eclipse in a span of some 1,000 years. Read more about the length of this lunar eclipse. The name comes from Native American folklore and it references the time of the year when beavers take refuge in their shelters to prepare for winter. It will be the only one of the year and the last total eclipse until 2023. (Source: www.the-sun.com Scientists have claimed that in millions of years from now, the Earth's shadow will appear differently on the moon. (Source:www.the-sun.com))

There will be 228 lunar eclipses this century, between 2001 and 2100. Most years will have two while some years will experience three or four. (Source: www.cbsnews.com)

May's partial lunar eclipse in Sydney, Australia. It is the first total lunar eclipse in more than two years, which coincides with a supermoon. A super moon is a name given to a full (or new) moon that occurs when the moon is in perigee - or closest to the earth - and it is the moon's proximity to earth that results in its brighter and bigger appearance. Most eclipses last less than two hours, so the 3 hours, 28 minutes and 23 seconds the moon will be in partial eclipse far surpasses others. (Source:www.cbsnews.com))

A lunar eclipse will be preceded and followed by solar eclipses by 9 years and 5.5 days (a half saros). (Source: en.wikipedia.org)

The duration of the eclipse will be 3 hours 28 minutes and 24 seconds, making it the longest in 580 years. (Source: www.livemint.com)

The longest partial lunar eclipse in 580 years will occur on 19 November and will be visible from parts of Northeast India. The lunar eclipse, the last of 2021, will be the longest since the 15th century. The last time an eclipse this long happened was on 18 February 1440. (Source: www.livemint.com)

A lunar eclipse occurs when the Earth comes in between the Sun and the Moon. During the phenomenon, the Earth moves in between the Sun and Moon and obstruct the sunlight reflected by the Lunar surface. This year’s second and last lunar eclipse is set to take place on Friday, November 19, 2021. It will be a partial lunar eclipse and will last about six hours. The last lunar eclipse was the Super Flower Blood Moon that took place on May 26. (Source: www.news18.com)

If you miss the eclipse, don't fret. After this, NASA predicts another 179 eclipses in the next eight decades, with an average of two per year. The next eclipse will happen on May 16, 2022. (Source: www.businessinsider.com)
