Daniel Tosh became famous as the host of Comedy Central’s popular internet video clip show, Tosh.0. After finishing college with a degree in marketing, Tosh started touring the comedy club circuit as a stand-up comedian. Tosh describes a comic’s routine life on the road as “Groundhog Day”, a reference to the film of the same name. Tosh’s big career break came with an appearance in 2001 on the Late Show with David Letterman. After the Late Show performance, Tosh appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, and Comedy Central’s Premium Blend.

Tosh was born on May 29, 1975, in Boppard, Rhineland-Palatinate, West Germany. However, he moved to the United States as a child and was brought up in Titusville, Florida. He attended the University of Central Florida, from which he graduated with a degree in marketing in 1996. He did not initially plan to have a career in comedy, and one of his first jobs was as a telemarketer at Central Florida Research Park. Soon after he graduated from college, Daniel Tosh made the decision to move to Los Angeles, where he started touring the comedy club circuit. At the 1998 ‘Just for Laughs’ in Montreal, he was one of the ‘New Faces’. Just two years later, his act was televised at the Theatre-Saint-Denis in Montreal. Tosh’s big break came in 2001 when he was invited to perform on the ‘Late Show with David Letterman’. This led to him appearing on similar shows, such as Comedy Central’s Premium Blend, Jimmy Kimmel Live!, and The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. (Source: moneyinc.com)
