Arsenal 4-0 Everton - Premier League and FA Cup Highlights
Arsenal have won their second game in a row and now sit five points clear atop the table. It promises to be an exciting evening at the Emirates that will surely go down as one of the highlights of this remarkable season.
The hosts are playing with plenty of confidence and it appears they have the structure in place to win big games. Everton are only two points behind them in the league standings and face a challenging slate of fixtures ahead.
Arsenal moved further ahead in the Premier League with a 4-0 victory against Everton that put them five points clear of second-place Manchester City. Liverpool, meanwhile, avenged their 3-0 defeat to Wolves to remain just six points behind Tottenham in fourth place.
In the FA Cup, fourth-division Grimsby shocked top-flight Southampton by beating them 2-1 to reach the quarterfinals for the first time since 1939. Goals from two penalties by Gavan Holohan gave the Mariners an unexpected win.
At a stunning start to the game, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg made an error and allowed Ismaila Coulibaly into goal with just moments remaining. After taking time to compose himself, Coulibaly fired wide of the left post from only a few yards out in what should have been an exciting Spurs victory.
After the break, United looked to take the lead but Casemiro's header was disqualified for offside before Nayef Aguerd headed home his own goal in the 77th minute. It was a disappointing outcome for Ten Hag's side as they now must travel to relegation-threatened Wolves on Saturday in the league and are the only team with home fixtures remaining in quarterfinals - against Arsenal.
Southampton were left to rue a series of errors as they fell behind to Holohan's double penalty-kick strike. Lyanco and Duje Caleta-Car both gave away penalty kicks, while Theo Walcott was denied an equaliser by VAR.
However, the home side began to create chances as Theo Walcott missed a shot just wide and Ryan Taylor hit one from 25 yards that bucked up just past the keeper's left-hand post. In the dying minutes, Theo Walcott had another opportunity to score but it was disallowed for offside.
But that wasn't the only surprise of the night as Southampton couldn't break through Grimsby's defense and Caleta-Car also missed a corner kick as Grimsby claimed victory by an odd goal. This game came as such a shock to football, yet delighted Grimsby fans are already looking forward to the next round.
English football has seen plenty of legendary upsets, some even going down in history. One such case is when League Two side Crawley Town stunned top-flight Leeds United with a stunning 3-0 victory at Bootham Crescent.
Oldham's shocking defeat of Liverpool in the fourth round of the FA Cup proved that non-league clubs can still deliver impressive wins. Led by amateur players, Oldham managed to escape relegation from Premier League by pulling off an incredible comeback victory.
Another unforgettable FA Cup triumph for Coventry was their 1-0 victory against Third Division outfit Sutton at the iPro Stadium in 1989, which would go down in club's history books as one of its greatest victories.
On a night of high drama, Southampton found themselves trailing 1-0 after Mark Caleta-Car's goal had been disallowed by the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) minutes after halftime. But soon enough, Ward-Prowse struck from close range to bring them level.
However, Grimsby soon took control of the game when Orsi was sent off for a second bookable offence after an altercation with Caleta-Car. A mistake from goalkeeper Joe McCarthy then allowed Holohan to score another penalty kick, this time rolling it down the middle and then whipping it across goal to double their advantage.
Meanwhile, the Premier League was in full swing as Arsenal continued their title bid with a comprehensive win against Everton at Emirates Stadium. The result puts Arsenal five points clear of Manchester City in the race for the title; Everton must now win their next three matches to catch up.
That may seem like a tall order, but it appears achievable. VAVEL USA will be providing live updates, news updates and more from the match right here!

Richarlison's rare start was cut short when the Brazilian missed an opportunity to strike first after beating the offside trap and failing to get a clear shot on goal.
