Pitt Basketball

Pitt basketball is one of the most popularly followed collegiate sports in the country. As of March 8, 2019, Pitt had the longest history of major college basketball teams with its first game being played on December 26, 1895, at Exposition Hall, on the campus of the University of Pittsburgh. Its football team has competed since its first recorded game in 1887, and its football stadium, Highfield Stadium, has been in continuous use in some form since 1909.

Pitt is ranked fifth in the N.C.A.A. in attendance and must be considered among the favorites for a conference championship. It has been recently awarded the number-one ranking in recruiting for the 2017 class following the commitment of three-star point guard James Robinson.

The Boston College Eagles (6-6) travel to Pittsburgh on Saturday afternoon to play the Pittsburgh Panthers (5-9) at 4pm. This will be BC’s 3rd ACC match-up of the season after beating Notre Dame soundly in early December, but then getting trounced by UNC in their most recent game on January 2nd. Pitt hasn’t been faring well in the ACC themselves, going 0-3 so far against Virginia, Notre Dame, and Louisville. (Source:www.bcinterruption.com)
