Russian figure skater Kamila Valieva is facing the courts after being admitted to having taken drugs that are banned at a European competition. Russian Federation has said it will contest the ruling, contending it's unfair. The athlete had taken trimetazidine the drug that is used for chest pain due to heart only a few days prior to the Games. The CAS's decision was so harsh that the medal ceremony needed to be delayed until further examination was conducted.
The Russian anti-doping body has received the positive results of a test on Monday, which was shocking to the entire world. The agency subsequently suspended Valieva after she was cleared to participate at the Beijing Olympics. On Wednesday, the suspension was removed.
