NBC's Sunday Night Football Rolls With a New Broadcast Crew
If you are a football fan, you may have noticed that NBC has a new broadcast crew on its Sunday Night Football show. That's because the company has replaced its old crew with a group of professionals who have a lot of experience in the television industry. Some of them include Tirico, Tafoya, Collinsworth and many more.
NBC has tapped Mike Tirico to join Cris Collinsworth in the booth for Sunday Night Football. This is the first time in 11 years that Al Michaels will not be in the booth for the popular football broadcast.
The network announced the new announce team in a statement to Variety. The pair will call every SNF game on the schedule.
Tirico will also serve as the primetime host for NBCUniversal's coverage of the Olympics. He has also hosted the Indianapolis 500, the U.S. Open, and the NBA Finals. In addition, he has covered golf, horse racing, and Notre Dame football.
Before joining NBC, Tirico worked for ESPN and ABC. He served as the studio and on-site host for "Football Night in America," as well as the NBA's "Monday Night Countdown" and the NBA's "Sunday Night NBA Showdown." During his tenure at ESPN, he was also the NBA's lead basketball analyst, along with Jon Gruden and Len Elmore.
Tirico's elevation is the latest major change to the top NFL announce teams. Michaels' contract had ended after the network's Super Bowl broadcast. However, he could still call games for NBC.
After announcing the new broadcast team, NBC revealed that Michele Tafoya, who had been the main host of NBC's pre-game show, left the network amid controversy. NBC is now serving up a new logo for both shows.
Tirico and Collinsworth will call all of the network's games in 2022. They will also continue to call the NFL's kickoff game on Sept. 8. NBC Sports has also won exclusive rights to Thursday Night Football in 2021.
Mike Tirico is one of the oldest announcers in the NFL. His 17 years on Monday Night Football have helped him become one of the most respected play-by-play voices in the game. A decade ago, there were only four announcers who called primetime NFL games. Since then, that number has increased.
As for Tirico's biggest accomplishments, it's hard to beat his time hosting the Olympics. Not only did he anchor the coverage of the Pyeongchang Olympics, he also anchored the 2014 FIFA World Cup.
Cris Collinsworth will join the Sunday Night Football broadcast crew for a 14th season next fall. She will join Mike Tirico in the booth, while Al Michaels will move on.
NBC's Sunday Night Football was the top-rated program for the 2011-12 television season. It dethroned American Idol as the premier primetime program for the eighth straight year. In addition to being the most watched show in U.S. television history, it also ranked as the number one show for the five-year period between 2010 and 2014.
Cris Collinsworth has been with the NFL Network since 2011, and has worked on a variety of games and studio shows for NBC Sports. He is also a contributor to NBC's Olympic coverage.
Previously, Cris served as a co-host of the Super Bowl XLIII Pregame Show, which aired before the game between the New England Patriots and the Seattle Seahawks. Before joining NBC, he was a member of the NFL's Inside the NFL studio cast.
In 2004, Collinsworth won an Emmy Award for his work on Football Night in America. He also has won an Outstanding Event Analyst award in 2008. His work on SNF has earned him critical acclaim. The Houston Chronicle called him "the most thoughtful of football analysts" and the New York Post said that he is "in a league of his own."
Al Michaels has been the play-by-play voice of NBC's Sunday Night Football for the past 12 seasons. The network's contract with Michaels ended in March, and he was replaced by Kirk Herbstreit. But Tirico will fill in for Michaels on select games this season.
A longtime broadcaster, Tirico was formerly with ESPN and has also hosted Monday Night Football. After leaving "Monday Night Football" to join NBC, he has filled in for Michaels on a variety of games. During his time on NBC, he has called 20 games with Collinsworth.
Collinsworth has been a finalist in the category fifteen times in the last sixteen years. As a player, Collinsworth was an All-American and an Academic All-America. During his career, he was a three-time Pro Bowl selection and caught 417 passes for 6,698 yards.
NBC's Sunday Night Football rolls with a new broadcast crew, which means the show will get a fresh look this season. Newly confirmed analyst Cris Collinsworth and play-by-play announcer Mike Tirico will join the booth for the upcoming season. In addition, NBC announced that new coordinating producer Rob Hyland will replace veteran producer Steve Gaudelli.
With a fresh crew in place, NBC will deliver quality coverage of the NFL games this season. During the week before the start of the regular season, the show averaged 19.8 million viewers, which was the best among all networks.
For the first time, NBC will also roll out pylon cameras. Those can provide a unique perspective on the action. It's not uncommon for broadcast crews to adjust to personnel changes.
The new crew will work together for the next two weeks. They will also make adjustments during the course of the season. The NFL broadcast teams will call the first game of the season on Sept. 8. This year, Tafoya will work her 325th NFL game.
Michele Tafoya is one of the most recognizable national television sideline reporters in the U.S. She began her sports media career in 1993. After working for the NFL, Tafoya was named as the lead sports reporter for ABC's "Monday Night Football" from 2004 to 2010. She is also a four-time Sports Emmy Award winner.
NBC will air the Bills-Rams NFL regular-season opener tonight. The network will also air the Pittsburgh-Kansas City AFC Wild Card game at 8 p.m. ET on Peacock.
NBC's "Sunday Night Football" continues to be the top show in primetime for 12 straight years. NBC has also been a major contributor to the Olympics. NBC's Olympic coverage includes the "Triple Crown" horse racing event. Several games are scheduled for this season, including the Super Bowl LVI in Los Angeles in February.
NBC has also begun rolling out new camera angles and graphics. The broadcast will also debut new production trucks. Among other things, the crew will review tapes before the game. And NBC will debut new pylon cameras, which may offer unique views.
In the past couple years, NBC has rolled out a new graphics package for its Sunday Night Football and Super Bowl coverage. The package is used for a number of NBC owned and operated stations.
On February 1 of 2009, NBC introduced its new bottom-line scoring banner. This is the part of the score bar that displays the team's score and drive information. During the game, the graphic also displays the down and yardage in a feather. After a score, the graphic returns to normal.
NBC and CBS have had a long history of differences when it comes to the lead up to the game. NBC will have players walk onto the field before the show, while CBS will typically put together a montage of the teams.
For the 2019 Super Bowl, NBC will use a new graphics package. It's expected that the new logo will be simpler than the previous logo, and will be accompanied by text. Using a simple, multi-platform logo will help it resonate in in-game graphics.
The graphics package also includes a 'pod'-like scoreboard in the center of the screen. The play clock moves to the right of the down/yardage graphic, but is still positioned next to the 4:3 safe area.
In addition to the game clock, NBC also shows the timeouts. Timeouts are marked in white bars on the screen. NBC is the only network to have timeouts with white bars.
The bottom line scoring banner uses a similar layout to the one that is displayed on CBS Sports' SNF. It also displays the team's logo in a bottom-line font. But when the team scores, the graphic changes to display the word "TOUCHDOWN."
The NBC/NFL Network co-branding is on the left side of the score bar. The graphics package is also formatted for a 16:9 letterbox presentation.
As the new season begins, NBC is preparing to roll out a new logo for both shows. They will have a black background and will be surrounded by the NBC and NFL logos. These graphics packages will be used for a number of NBC-owned and operated stations and will be used for the broadcasts of the NFL and NHL.
The Pittsburgh Steelers are looking to stay alive in the playoffs and a win against the division rival Detroit Lions might be just the ticket. They'll have to get past the Baltimore Ravens and Pittsburgh Raiders, though, if they hope to make it.
The Pittsburgh Steelers may have had a bad start to the season, but they have found their footing and are firmly entrenched in the AFC playoff race. They have already won five of their past seven games and will try to finish the regular season with a win on Sunday Night Football against the Baltimore Ravens.
This will be a high-stakes game. After all, these two clubs have a history of meeting in the postseason four times. And while there aren't any tiebreakers for team records, there are plenty of factors that could play a role in the outcome. One of the most significant factors is the absence of Lamar Jackson and James Campbell. These two are crucial to the success of either club, and the loss of one or both could have a major impact on the game.
The Steelers and Ravens have a storied rivalry. Each of these teams has won at least one Super Bowl. In fact, each has won two. So it makes sense that they would have a rematch on the eve of the playoffs.
Both clubs will have their own take on this week's matchup. For instance, the Pittsburgh Steelers will want to prove they can beat anyone in the AFC, while the Ravens will look to reverse their two-game losing streak.
While both teams finished the season with a 9-7 record, the Steelers have a distinct advantage in this game. Although they aren't the most well-rounded team in the NFL, they do have a pair of top notch quarterbacks and a host of talented receivers. Their offensive production has increased in recent weeks, with J.K. Dobbins leading the way.
While the Ravens are a solid defensive team, the Steelers will need to find a way to pull ahead on offense. As a result, they are probably going to rely on the run game. However, the team isn't without its fair share of pass catchers, with Le'Veon Bell and Antonio Brown averaging over five yards per reception in the last five games.
It's also likely that both teams will use a man-to-man approach in their defense. Obviously, this isn't a perfect solution. Still, it will open up the playbook and allow for testing plays. Of course, the best defense is to limit first-down gains.
Regardless of what the Ravens do, the Steelers will have to keep their composure and avoid making too many mistakes. Last time they met, the Steelers went down 21-7 in the second half, and then managed to claw their way back into the game.
On the other hand, the Ravens have a solid rushing attack led by J.K. Dobbins, who had a career day. If the Steelers are going to have a chance against the Ravens, they will need to get more than a handful of catches from their juggernauts.
The rivalry between the Oakland Raiders and the Pittsburgh Steelers is a classic. Both teams are perennial contenders in the AFC, and they have played each other in the playoffs five times in the past six seasons. However, they have never played a memorable game.
Luckily for fans of the two teams, the two teams are going to get their chance to flex their muscles against each other in Week 16. This will be the second time the Steelers have played the Raiders in the postseason, and both teams will need to do their part to put on a show.
There are some key players in the game who will help each team succeed. One of them is the running back. Kenny Pickett will bring some dynamic dual threat ability to the Raiders defense. He is one of the most dependable offensive weapons the Steelers have this season. Diontae Johnson has also remained a reliable weapon for the Steelers this year. His quick feet allow him to create space.
Of course, the Steelers will also need to keep their defense stingy. Despite the Raiders offense's efficiency, the Raiders have been one of the worst defensive units in the NFL this year. They have given up the most yards per game in the league, and they have one of the worst Def Overall DVOA's.
While the Raiders have the best overall long-term success rate, the Steelers have a better overall short-term success rate. Moreover, they have a more impressive offensive player. In addition, the Steelers have the defense to match the offense.
It was a close game, but the Steelers ultimately prevailed 13-10. They are currently tied with the Panthers for the AFC wild-card spot, and will now head to Las Vegas to face them.
The Steelers did the smart thing and tried to rally from a 10 point deficit late in the fourth quarter. After a three-and-out, they finally had the ball in the second half. Unfortunately, the Steelers had no luck on their next drive.
But the Steelers did have a nice play. First, they intercepted Derek Carr on his attempt to throw a touchdown pass. Later, rookie Connor Heyward ran for a long touchdown run. Even though the Steelers had no real offense for much of the first half, they were able to tack on a couple of points.
The Pittsburgh Steelers and the Oakland Raiders met in the Week 8 game in 2013. It was a matchup of two teams that have been tussling for years. Despite the fact that both teams have had their ups and downs, they are now on a path to Super Bowl XI.
Hopefully, they can stay on track and keep their defense at the top of their game. If they do, they can win a lot of games.
The Detroit Lions have never won a game in Pittsburgh during the Super Bowl era. But they are 1-1 in their first two preseason games against the Steelers. Fortunately, their play this year looks better than their last few. Despite their early success, the team is still in need of improvement. In their last two games, the Lions are allowing more than 55 points per game. This means that they may have to give up the run.
Luckily, Detroit's offense improved with each passing drive. Several players had a big day on Sunday. Craig Reynolds had a five-yard touchdown run in the red zone. Amon-Ra St. Brown had a nine-yard pass in the second quarter. Le'Veon Bell had 36 yards on 18 carries. He also made one spectacular catch. However, his biggest contribution was on special teams.
On the third drive, a pass from Blough bounced off the facemask of a Detroit defender and was recovered by the Lions. It looked like the game was over. Nevertheless, the Lions gave Blough the ball again on fourth-and-goal.
The Steelers were able to take advantage of this turnover and drive down the field. They started their next drive at the Lions' 25-yard line. After a nice open-field tackle, they forced a 2-yard loss on third-and-10. That led to a short field goal. Having a five-point lead on the Lions at the end of the third quarter was a bit of a relief, but it wasn't enough.
During the third quarter, the Lions went to air on their first four downs. On a third-and-long, Boyle hit T.J. Hockenson for 15 yards. Another third-down pass was batted down by Cameron Heyward. Later, on a second-down pass, Boyle threw an incomplete pass to Justin Jackson.
The Steelers forced a three-and-out on their next drive. This set up a field goal attempt for Pittsburgh. Their defense forced a punt after the kick. Ultimately, the Steelers had a good day on special teams, converting the two-point conversion and returning the onside kick to the Lions.
The Lions' offense was held to a mediocre 59 yards on the ground, but a pair of field goals set up by turnovers allowed the Steelers to lead 19-9 at the half. Afterwards, the second-half rushing attack failed to gain much traction.
Meanwhile, the Lions' pass defense was a disaster. Its starters gave up three field goals and nine points on the ground. Moreover, they turned the ball over three times.
Despite the loss, Detroit is still a solid defensive team. Its defensive line is very strong. Head coach Mike Tomlin is smart in moving his pieces and playing sound football.
However, the Detroit Lions need to do better. If they can't establish a rushing attack, they won't be able to move the ball down the field. And if the pass isn't protected, the offense will be stymied.
If you are interested in watching "Sunday Night Football" tonight, you will need to know which teams are scheduled to play. Some of the match-ups that you will want to watch are the Vikings-Red Sox, the Packers-Vikings, and the Steelers-Ravens.
The Green Bay Packers are on the cusp of a Super Bowl appearance, and they will need to beat the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday to keep the run going. Luckily, you can watch the game on legal streaming platforms.
The Vikings have had a tumultuous year, but they aren't completely out of the running for a playoff spot. They are 12-3, and they have two games left to play. But, they might have already lost a matchup with the Packers.
The Vikings lost a close one to the Packers, and they've had some breakdowns on the defensive side of the ball. However, they've gotten a bit rejuvenated by the play of quarterback Christian Ponder. Against the Packers, he looked pretty good.
The Green Bay Packers are on the cusp to have a second straight Super Bowl title, but they'll need to win this game to keep the streak going. Their over/under is currently at 46.5, though they've dropped 1.5 points since the opening line.
Luckily, you can watch the game online for free. You can access the NFL's free streaming app on mobile devices, or you can use your data plan to watch games on your laptop.
If you're a cord cutter, you can still catch the Packers game on local cable. Local NBC 26 or Fox 9 will carry the game. In addition, you can also stream it online on FOX Sports or Fubo TV.
The Packers' pass defense has been shaky. On Sunday, they gave up a rushing touchdown to the LA Rams, and then had an interception from Kirk Cousins. A loss on Sunday would keep the Packers out of the playoffs.
Aaron Rodgers has won consecutive MVPs, and he's looking to have a second in a row. The Vikings haven't been the best against the run, but they have some solid components on defense. And they've got Percy Harvin, who's had a tumultuous career.
The Vikings lost to the Packers 37-10 in January of 2021, and they've had a couple tough losses to the Bears and Lions. It's unlikely that the Vikings will have a chance to take down the Packers in the final two regular season games.
The Pittsburgh Steelers travel to Baltimore for a classic AFC North battle against the Ravens. Both teams are vying for their playoff lives, with the Ravens holding a one-game lead over the Cincinnati Bengals.
While there's no doubt the Steelers and Ravens have been a rivalry for years, it's only been in the last few seasons that they have become a truly physical match. They've also played each other in the postseason, with the Steelers winning four of the past five meetings.
The two teams met in Week 14, with the Steelers coming away with a 39-38 win. That game was the only loss for the Steelers in 15-1 season. Despite that, the Steelers still lead the series.
The Baltimore Ravens and Pittsburgh Steelers have won two Super Bowls, each a team first, and they've split six games in the rivalry. Their rivalry has also produced some memorable plays, from Troy Polamalu's intercepted pass in the AFC Championship Game to the Pittsburgh Steelers' famous touchdown in the Super Bowl.
With both teams vying for the AFC North title, this will be a must-watch matchup. It will be broadcast live on NBC, with pregame coverage starting at 7 p.m. and game time set for 8:20 p.m. EST, on Sunday, January 1.
The game will also be available on the Peacock, which is NBC's streaming platform. This will be a classic slugfest.
The Pittsburgh Steelers have won four of their last five games, and are still clinging to their playoff hopes. However, they'll need help from the Cincinnati Bengals to make it.
The Ravens will be without quarterback Lamar Jackson, who has been sidelined with an injury. In addition to missing his quarterback, Baltimore will also be losing another veteran, linebacker Ray Lewis.
If the Ravens' defense can keep the Steelers out of the end zone, they'll be able to make a run for the playoffs. However, they'll have to eat.
The Steelers and Ravens have been a great rivalry, and they've also had some memorable moments. The Steelers and Ravens are the only AFC North teams to have won a Super Bowl.
During the upcoming NFL season, there will be 19 Super Bowl rematches. In fact, each team will play against four other teams from their conference. There are five rematches in the NFC and four in the AFC. Among the teams scheduled to play in Weeks 3, 6, and 15 are the Seattle Seahawks, Kansas City Chiefs, San Francisco 49ers, and Denver Broncos.
The Los Angeles Rams are in the midst of a five-game losing streak. Their offense is stumbling, and they are missing several defensive contributors. As a result, they are 3-8. But they do have a chance to return to the playoffs, and they may even make it to the NFC Championship game. They're playing the San Francisco 49ers, a team that sits atop the NFC West.
Meanwhile, the Kansas City Chiefs are on a roll. They have won five straight games. And they'll face the San Francisco 49ers, another team that aspires to be a Super Bowl contender. This will be the first meeting since the two teams' Super Bowl LV.
While there are a lot of rematches in the NFC, there are a lot of other exciting matchups in Weeks 6 through 14. Pittsburgh is taking on the NFC North, and each team plays against four other teams from the other conference.
Buffalo has two meetings against Dallas. It's worth watching whether they can get the win against the Cowboys. Both teams beat Buffalo twice last year. That said, Buffalo was a seven-point favorite in its Week 8 matchup, and it has been a strong home team.
If the Chiefs can defeat the Niners, they'll be able to earn some redemption for their loss in Arrowhead Stadium. They are also preparing for their rematch against Tampa Bay in Week 11.
For the other teams in the NFC, there are some rematches that could have some potential to be the Super Bowl. Teams will have to play two times to qualify for the playoffs, and each will have a chance to play in the final four.
There are a lot of great Sunday night football games coming up, and you can be sure there will be many more Super Bowl rematches.
The Minnesota Vikings and the Green Bay Packers are two teams that are both playing for a playoff spot in their conference. On Sunday night football, the two teams will meet.
Although the Vikings lost their game against the Green Bay Packers, the team is still in good position to finish in the top of the NFC North. They also have a chance to eliminate the Packers from the playoffs.
On the other hand, the Packers aren't quite as good. They've won only three games in their last seven games. Their offense hasn't been very good. However, they've managed to win two of their last three games.
While the Patriots are a good team, they're playing a tough schedule for the rest of the season. They play a lot of the same players on each side of the ball, so they'll have all of their starters available.
The Patriots will have a tough test against the Vikings on Sunday night. Kirk Cousins is 10-18 in prime-time games. He's 7-15 in games that are played late on the day. But, he's been really good in the early weeks of the season, as he's gone a combined 51-31 in those games.
The Patriots are coming off a 10-point win against the Jets, and they have a big test ahead against the Vikings. The Patriots haven't won in Minnesota's U.S. Bank Stadium, and they've yet to beat Bill Belichick.
In addition, the Vikings are playing a zone-based defensive scheme. That means they'll be relying on their front seven to handle the run. And zone-coverage teams are more likely to react to fakes than other types of coverage.
Meanwhile, the Lions are 4-1 in their last five games and have looked really good of late. They'll be ready for a close game on Sunday night. Hopefully, they can make a statement in this matchup.
These are the two teams who have the best records in their respective leagues. However, in the end, elite talent wins. After all, it was the Los Angeles Rams who ended up being the last undefeated team in the NFL.
If you're watching Sunday Night Football this week, you'll want to watch the Pittsburgh Steelers vs Baltimore Ravens game. That's because these two teams are playing the best football of the NFL season right now. So, let's take a look at some of the stats and betting trends for this matchup.
When the Pittsburgh Steelers take the field on Sunday Night Football against the Baltimore Ravens, they will be looking for their fifth road victory in six meetings. They also have a 2-1 record against the Ravens in the last four years.
The Ravens and Steelers have met in the postseason four times. They've won each of the last three contests. Each team has also won a Super Bowl.
In the meantime, the Ravens have won seven of their last nine games. They also hold a seven-game winning streak at M&T Bank Stadium. With that said, they are still in the hunt for a playoff spot. Their best bet to get in is to win their final two games and beat the Bengals in the season's regular season finale.
While the Ravens are a solid bet to win tonight, they have struggled in the red zone this season. Their conversion rate in the red zone is one of the lowest in the league.
However, this year's Steelers are a much better defense. They have allowed fewer points in the past four games, and are averaging just 11.6 points per game.
Despite the improvement, the Steelers still have some questions to answer at quarterback. Specifically, Benny Snell's ability to lead the charge is a concern. He's scored only twice on the ground this season, and has a poor receiving corps. That's not to say he can't be a factor in the passing game.
The Ravens and Steelers will be meeting for the second time this season. The NFL moved the game to the Sunday night window, which means it will air on NBC. You can also stream the match live on Peacock.
The game is expected to begin around 7:00 p.m. Eastern, with NBC's pregame coverage starting at 7 pm. If you're interested in watching the game, you can watch NBC's coverage, or try the free trial offered by FuboTV. This service carries every NFL game. It's available for most local markets, as well as CBS and NFL Network.
Although the Ravens have won five of their last seven games, they sit behind the Cincinnati Bengals for first place in the AFC North. The Steelers, on the other hand, have won the last two AFC North games.
When the Pittsburgh Steelers play the Baltimore Ravens in Week 17, they will be looking to improve their record to 8-7. They will also have to get losses from the Jets at the Miami Dolphins and the Patriots at the Bills. If they can do that, they will be in position to clinch the AFC North.
The Steelers were able to win their last game in Baltimore, but they will face an injury-depleted Ravens team. Several of the Ravens players are inactive, including QB Lamar Jackson (knee), WR Diontae Johnson, C Trystan Colon, TE Nick Boyle, and LB Roquan Smith.
The Steelers will have to deal with Ravens RB Jay Dobbins, who has an average of 5.2 yards per carry. He is one of two running backs who have averaged over 5.2 yards per carry this season.
Pittsburgh will have to rely on its defense to beat the Ravens. The Ravens are one of the best pass-defense teams in the NFL, but they have struggled in the red zone.
The Ravens have a solid track record against the run this year. They allow opponents to run for 72.1 yards per game, and only allow two rushing scores in their last eight games. But they have been outscored by seven points in the red zone in each of the last two games.
On the other hand, the Steelers have improved their pass defense in the last three weeks. In their last matchup, they were ranked 24th in passing yards and 19th in adjusted net yards per pass attempt. This week, they are ranked 23rd.
On the other hand, the Steelers are allowing 50.0 yards per game through the air. This season, they are 1-6 when allowing more than five yards on a first down play.
In the passing game, the Steelers will be focused on limiting receiver Jermaine Andrews. Andrews has been a target for Big Ben a lot this season. However, he is still only tied for the third-best catch rate in the NFL.
The Steelers should be able to hold the Ravens in check on both sides of the ball. While the Ravens love to throw, the Steelers are very good at running the ball.
If the Ravens and Steelers meet on Sunday, the game will be an intriguing battle of two AFC North contenders. Both teams have played well recently, with Baltimore having won three of their last four games and Pittsburgh winning two. The Ravens are currently in third place in the AFC North, and have an opportunity to clinch the division title with a victory on Sunday.
The two teams have been playing close games lately. The Baltimore Ravens defeated the Atlanta Falcons 17-9 in their most recent matchup. Meanwhile, the Pittsburgh Steelers have won four of their last five games and are still in the playoff hunt.
In their first meeting this season, Baltimore sported an impressive defense, holding the Steelers to just two points. The Pittsburgh offense has been able to take advantage of the Ravens' weaknesses. However, Baltimore will have to cover a large spread on Sunday.
In order to keep their playoff hopes alive, the Steelers will need to win out. They have won four of their past five games and are currently 5-2 ATS. Nevertheless, the Ravens have a solid chance to make it to the playoffs, and will be looking to beat the Steelers on their home turf.
For the last few weeks, the Ravens have been less than a field goal favorite in most of their games. This has a lot to do with the fact that they have a soft schedule.
The Steelers are 8-6 ATS this year, and they have a strong defense. Moreover, they are 9-0-1 ATS in December. Considering they've been one of the more impressive teams to play since the start of the season, they have the potential to make a steal on the road.
The Ravens have had a surprisingly successful season, and will be looking to extend their streak to five straight games when they host the Steelers on New Year's Day. On the other hand, Pittsburgh will be hoping to bounce back from their loss to the Raiders on Sunday.
While the Steelers have won the past two games, they will need to beat the Ravens on Sunday in order to keep their playoff hopes alive.
In a Week 17 matchup that will feature two teams battling for the AFC North title, the Baltimore Ravens and Pittsburgh Steelers will meet on Sunday Night Football. Both teams are coming off wins in back-to-back games against Carolina and Las Vegas, and are looking to keep their playoff hopes alive.
The Steelers have been one of the better run-defense teams in the league, allowing only 87.5 yards per game, and have been bolstered by the return of T.J. Watt from IR. While the defense has had some solid contributions, they are a bit lackluster at run-blocking.
On the other hand, the Steelers' offense is average at many metrics. They average 115.4 yards of offense per game and rank 26th in the NFL at run-blocking.
Baltimore has won two of the last three meetings between these teams, though the Ravens haven't scored more than 17 points in any of Huntley's three starts. The Steelers' defense has allowed only 14 points or fewer in seven of their last eight games.
The Ravens have a very strong running attack, averaging 5.3 yards per carry. However, the Ravens' run defense ranks eighth in the league, allowing 3.8 yards per carry.
With Lamar Jackson sidelined for the fourth straight game, Tyler Huntley will start in place of the former first-round pick. It's unknown how much the Ravens will rely on their running game, but they should still be able to produce points.
Baltimore has improved their defense since the beginning of the season, limiting teams to 13 points or fewer in six of their last eight games. That includes the Falcons, who were shutout against them in Desmond Ridder's second career start.
Despite having a young and inexperienced quarterback at the helm, the Ravens have won two of their last three games, and will look to make it four in a row. If they can find a way to win the next two games, they will lock up their spot in the postseason.
The Baltimore Ravens and the Pittsburgh Steelers are a matchup of teams that have won two Super Bowls, and are a ferocious rivalry. But the last meeting between these teams was just 12 years ago.
Fantasy football Week 17 will be here before you know it, and this means that you need to get in the game fast. This is the time to make sure you get the right players in your rosters to help you win your fantasy league. The best way to do this is to start a few players who haven't been performing as well as they should be. Some of the top options are Jaylen Warren and the Ravens, but there are a couple other teams that should also be in your starting lineups.
If you're looking for a running back to start in your fantasy football league this week, there are two players to consider: Najee Harris and Jaylen Warren. Although they're both talented, neither offers enough value to warrant starting them in your league.
Najee Harris has been a disappointment this season. After a promising rookie campaign, he's only scored eight or more fantasy points in six straight games. He's also only caught half of the targets Kenny Pickett has thrown his way.
Despite his struggles, however, there are still reasons to include Harris in your fantasy football squad. He has the ability to break tackles and is a popular waiver wire name. This is especially true in 12-team leagues.
On the other hand, Warren has been more efficient this year. He has a higher first down rate than Harris and has twice as many rushing attempts and avoided tackles per carry as his teammate. His yards after contact are also a lot higher than Harris's.
Although Warren hasn't gotten off to a great start this year, he's shown that he can be a reliable change of pace back. It's possible he'll get even more chances down the road. But he may not be the ideal starter this week against the Ravens.
Depending on the game script, he could see some carries. In the past five weeks, he's been the second most targeted player on the Steelers, averaging a respectable 51% of offensive snaps. However, he hasn't rushed for more than 55 yards in any of the past three games.
The most important thing to know about Harris's performance is that he's not being benched. With Warren out, Harris is expected to lead the Steelers' backfield.
If you are looking for a start sit in Week 17 against the Ravens, you may be thinking about replacing Najee Harris with Jaylen Warren. Both of these running backs have proven to be solid change-of-pace players, but neither has a lot of upside in fantasy finals.
Warren is a dual threat who can improve the Steelers' running game. He has rushed 19 times for 4.9 yards per carry, and added yards after contact more than Harris.
Harris has been a disappointment this season, and it seems like the Steelers must replace him. This is a good time to do it, as the Steelers have been given the second-most Fantasy Points Per Game to running backs this year.
In addition, Jaylen Warren has a much higher first-down rate than Harris. His average of eight first downs to four missed tackles is a better statistic than Harris's five first downs to two missed tackles.
George Pickens is also a quarterback. That means he should be able to get some rushing upside against the Falcons. But he's also been a good pass catcher. He's caught 12 of 16 targets for 185 yards.
Diontae Johnson has had a disappointing season, but he's also a talented player. Before his concussion, he was WR34 in PPR formats. It's not a great matchup for him in Week 17, though.
Kenny Pickett is making progress as a pro passer. He's thrown two interceptions in the past six games, and has at least 28 pass attempts in eight of his last nine full games.
The Ravens are not an elite defense, but they're still a decent option in DFS. Baltimore has allowed just six sacks in the past four games.
Those in the market for a flex option or starting bench player may want to consider Jaylen Warren or the Ravens this week. This is a pretty popular choice and a lot of players are jumping on the bandwagon.
There are a few reasons why this pick may be worth considering, including his ability to provide dual-threat fantasy production. While Warren hasn't had a stellar year, he has shown some improvement over his first few weeks and his stats have risen in the last few games.
He has been able to add yards after contact and has a higher first-down rate than Najee Harris. However, this is more of a contingency fantasy option than a viable starter.
The Ravens should be a tough matchup for Jaylen Warren. They've allowed just one TD to a quarterback in the past four games. Even with a solid performance, he won't be able to produce a standout fantasy game.
The Seahawks have given up a record number of passing yards to opposing quarterbacks this season, and have been mediocre against the run. Still, he has the potential to produce a big play against a defense that allows the second-most Fantasy Points Per Game to running backs this season.
In Week 13, the Ravens were also able to get a number of high-value touches in the red zone. While Deebo Samuel didn't see a score, he did receive seven targets.
Those looking for a starting option or flex candidate will also have a good shot at picking up Corey Davis. He is a top 24 back in PPR and has the upside to be a top three RB. But he could be sore after 33 carries in the past two weeks.
Warren was a big part of the Steelers' win over the Raiders, but his absence could impact the role of RB Najee Harris. The hamstring injury Warren suffered in Week 16 could also have an effect on the role of RB Harris.
Harris is the obvious starter, but Warren will also be viable in fantasy playoff lineups. He has been a solid change-of-pace back in recent weeks, and has been a good option when Harris is absent.
While Harris has had the most work of any running back in the past four games, Warren has been a dependable source of value. His two receptions for 14 yards and six carries for 38 yards in Week 16 are promising.
In the second half, Warren rushed 11 times for 38 yards. The majority of his touches came in the red zone. However, he did see some pass-catching duties in the early going, and he added a seven-yard reception.
While Jaylen Warren will not start, he is worth considering as a flex play for Week 17. Harris is not likely to start against the Ravens, but Warren would be a good alternative. Despite his high workload, Harris should be able to find the end zone, and he should also be a solid RB2 option.
Meanwhile, Warren is expected to sit out Monday night's game against the Colts. Nevertheless, he is listed as "questionable" on the team's injury report. This could mean that he should be ready to go for Sunday's matchup against the Falcons.
Regardless, the loss of Warren will have a major impact on the role of RB Harris. Although Warren should be an ideal flex play in Week 17, his absence will have a huge impact on the RB2 value of Harris in the near future.
The Ravens have had the second-best run defense in the NFL, but Jaylen Warren could serve as their lead back when Najee Harris goes down. He has shown that he is a good change-of-pace running back, and his stats have improved over the past few weeks.
Deebo Samuel has been a reliable fantasy asset, but his ceiling is a bit limited by his injury. If he can stay healthy, he will provide a flex play.
There are plenty of other top-tier running backs to consider this week. But Jaylen Warren is the obvious choice, and he is likely to deliver dual-threat fantasy production.
While Corey Davis has the potential to be a big scorer, his floor is lower. With a pass-funnel Titans defense, his chances are a little bit less. Nonetheless, he is one of the top options for a quarterback who needs a handcuff.
Another option is Todd Pickens, who is coming off a big game. In his last three games, he has shown no signs of decline. Moreover, he scored his third touchdown of the season in the fourth quarter, proving that his ability to make big plays still exists.
However, his upside is a little bit low against the Ravens. Even though he has been a reliable fantasy option this season, he has been held under 60 yards in seven of his nine games.
On the other hand, Travis Kelce has been an extremely reliable tight end, catching 12 passes for touchdowns. His floor is a little bit higher than Kelley's, and he's got six more games to play.
It's a tight battle for the best flex option in the Week 17 Ravens-Browns matchup. Harrison Byrant, Tyler Allgeier, and Juwan Johnson are all potential options, but the latter two are not in the best spots for fantasy managers.
There are many factors to consider when putting together a Sunday Night Football DraftKings selections. One of those factors is which players are available to select. If you are looking to draft a few players with good upside, there are several options to consider. Some of these players include Tonyan, Gardner Minshew II, Evan Engram, and Van Jefferson.
For fantasy football owners who are looking for a quarterback option on Sunday Night Football, Gardner Minshew II is a viable option. He is available at a price of $5,500 at DraftKings. That isn't a huge number, and he has a decent salary, so his value should be considered.
While Minshew's performance against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 16 was not great, he has a good chance to do better against the Saints. He has an elite supporting cast and will play against a tough defense.
In Week 16, he completed 24 of 40 passes for 355 yards and two touchdowns. Moreover, he ran for five yards on four carries.
The Saints' defense allows the 13th-fewest fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks. Despite their high point differential, Minshew may struggle in this matchup. Luckily, he has an excellent supporting cast and could be a solid option in DFS games.
Minshew will be inserted into the Eagles offense in Week 17. They have a top offensive line and a solid rushing attack, so he should have no problems putting up points.
However, it is unlikely that he will be able to throw a ton of interceptions. If he does, it is likely that he will have no fantasy relevance in the absence of Hurts.
He has a price tag of $7,500 at FanDuel, but the price isn't excessive. Whether he becomes a viable option for DFS games is dependent on how much Hurts returns and whether the Saints are able to make it a competitive game.
It is possible that Minshew will be used as the Eagles' backup for a few weeks, and he might not have the best matchup. That's not to say that he shouldn't be added to a lineup with Hurts, though.
The Green Bay Packers have a lot of tight ends, and Robert Tonyan is one of them. His value is unclear, but he could be a late-round flier. He will likely get a chance to prove his worth against the New England Patriots this weekend.
Tonyan has caught one pass in each of the last three games. That's a pretty weak performance, considering he hasn't exceeded 30 yards receiving in a game since more than two months.
If he is able to perform well against the Patriots, Tonyan has a good shot of earning a touchdown. But he's still a bit risky as a flex play in larger leagues.
One of the big questions surrounding Tonyan is his health. He tore his ACL in Week 8, but he has been working with a rehab group during OTAs. As a result, he won't carry an injury designation for this weekend's matchup with the Philadelphia Eagles.
He's still not medically cleared for training camp, though. That will be one of the first things he needs to clear before he can be counted on for big fantasy numbers.
He's also got a great matchup against a tough Patriots defense. In fact, Tonyan hasn't scored a TD in a game since Week 4. So, he's not much of a dynasty fantasy stud, but he has a chance to show his stuff this week.
Whether or not Tonyan has a breakout game isn't as important as his matchup, but he's worth a look if you're looking for a late-round flier.
Tonyan's catching stats aren't that impressive, but he's gotten more involved in the offense in recent weeks. His catch rate is almost half the way up, which means he's a better candidate for a big day than in earlier weeks.
Evan Engram has been on fire in recent weeks. He's averaging more than 20 targets and more than 10 receptions in the last three games. He's also been on the receiving end of three touchdowns in that time. Whether Engram will continue to be a top-tier fantasy option remains to be seen, but he's certainly been a player worth keeping an eye on.
Despite his impressive numbers, Engram still has a ways to go to match the totals he put up in his rookie season. His 61 receptions and 722 yards are a far cry from the 62 and 724 he put up as a rookie.
While Engram was able to rack up a number of impressive stats in Week 15, he also had a few stretches where he was nothing but a liability. That's why he's currently priced as a late-round pick in most leagues.
If you're in a fantasy league that includes the Jets, you'll want to be sure to keep a close eye on him. The Jets have a defense that ranks a tad lower than their record, and they're facing a Jaguars offense that is led by Marvin Jones, Christian Kirk, and Travis Etienne. They're a team that's had a lot of success in the red zone this season.
Although the Jags are on the bubble, their chances improve with a win. This should be a fun matchup, and it will be a big test for the Jets' secondary, which has been prone to interception this year.
Evan Engram has been a key part of the Jaguars' playoff push this season. As a result, his ceiling as a fantasy player is high. Fortunately, his role has been expanding in recent weeks. In fact, he has been on the field for more than half the team's snaps in the last two games. Hopefully, this means he'll get a chance to show off his stuff again in Week 17.
The Los Angeles Rams (7-9) lost their best fantasy receiver, Odell Beckham, in Week 13. But they have a young, talented receiver in Jeffery Jefferson, who is catching passes from quarterback Baker Mayfield. He was a candidate to play in Sunday's game against the Chiefs, but it looks like Allen Robinson II might be ready to take over.
Jefferson hasn't made a big play yet this season, but he is catching a decent share of targets. This could help him develop into a consistent threat in the future, if the Rams can keep him healthy. Until then, however, he should be a risky flex play in most fantasy leagues.
With the Rams, Jefferson hasn't scored a touchdown, but he has caught a couple of really good long passes. In Week 16, he caught three of five targets for 19 yards against Denver.
In a loss to the Chiefs, Jefferson led the Rams in receptions and receiving yards. He also tied for the team in end zone targets.
While this is impressive, it's not as if Jefferson hasn't caught more than three passes in any game this year. And he hasn't gone over 50 yards in a single game, either.
As a result of the offensive line's ineptitude, Jefferson hasn't done much for fantasy managers. However, he is still averaging a solid 1.08 yards per route run.
The Rams are in a tough matchup this week against the Chargers, and they're going to need to get more passing yards if they want to avoid a repeat of the loss to Denver. If they do, they'll need a TD from Jefferson to make the victory count.
Pollard hasn't practiced all week and is still questionable to play in Week 17. If he's out of the lineup, Malik Davis will take over as the primary running back for Dallas.
While Elliott has been a fantasy favorite, his rushing line and ceiling are much higher when Pollard is healthy. He has a strong chance to break the 100-yard mark in Week 17 against the Titans.
Pollard is averaging 5.3 yards per carry and he has over five yards on 16.7% of his rushes. In addition, he has caught passes longer than 10.5 yards in three of his last five games.
Zeke has a much better rushing line than Pollard, but that doesn't mean that he won't get touches. Pollard is a natural runner, but he's been difficult to break tackles with the ball in his hands.
Even when healthy, Elliott is far from the smash-hit RB he once was. Nonetheless, Pollard has proven that he's a much better receiver than Elliott.
This week, the Dallas Cowboys will be facing a Tennessee Titans defense that has given up the second-fewest rushing attempts and the fifth-fewest fantasy points to opposing running backs this season. However, the Titans are ranked 27th in pass defense DVOA.
Despite the lack of a top-tier running back, the Cowboys still should be committed to the ground game. When healthy, Elliott has drawn the bulk of his carries. Against a Titans defense that allows 3.5 yards per rushing attempt and has allowed a 50% completion rate, it's reasonable to expect a high workload from Elliott.
With that said, Pollard will be a riskier fantasy play in Week 17. He's currently at a -114 on FanDuel and has a 59.5-yard line on DraftKings. The FanDuel line is more favorable, but DraftKings' -110 is more attainable.
If you are looking to get your Sunday Night Football fix this week, there are a few teams that you may want to keep an eye on. These teams include the Carolina Panthers, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and the Philadelphia Eagles.
The Steelers and the Ravens are both in desperate need of a win this week. Both teams are looking to keep their playoff hopes alive. If either of these teams wins, it would make a huge difference in the outcome of the AFC North.
The Baltimore Ravens have a good chance of winning the AFC North this season. But they could also fall out of the race for the top spot. They're not playing well at the moment, though, as they have a record of 5-9 after a 23-21 loss to the New England Patriots on Sunday.
Pittsburgh, on the other hand, is playing some great football right now, winning four of their last five games. This is despite some injuries to their front seven and safety position. Some of these players have missed a significant portion of practice this week. There's also the matter of quarterback Lamar Jackson, who is out with a knee injury and won't be able to play.
While the Steelers are still mathematically alive in the AFC playoffs, it's likely they'll lose their final two games of the year. They will need to beat the Browns to finish the regular season, and hope that the Dolphins lose their game against the Patriots.
Although the Steelers are coming off a 13-10 victory over the Oakland Raiders on Christmas Eve, they have a lot to prove. Their offense was sluggish in their Week 14 matchup, averaging just a combined 16.2 points per game. However, it did have an average day throwing the ball. And, it's worth mentioning that they have been averaging an impressive 11.5 points per game since Week 13.
Of course, the Steelers will also need to find a way to beat the Patriots, who have improved their offensive attack and defense over the last five weeks. Hopefully, they can find a way to snag the AFC Wild Card slot.
Meanwhile, the Baltimore Ravens are looking to end their season on a high note, as they have a chance to win the AFC North and finish the season 10-6. With a victory, they'd have a head-to-head tiebreaker over the Cincinnati Bengals.
The Patriots are currently sitting in seventh place, and if they can beat the Bills in Week 18, they'll take the spot and move into the top seven. That would be a huge boost for the team's postseason prospects, especially after their win over Miami.
Overall, the game between the Steelers and the Ravens will be a tough one. Both sides have struggled against the run this season, but the Ravens will be without their leading rusher. Gus Edwards is expected to lead the way, and Drake is a big question mark, especially after he was injured in the third quarter of the Steelers' Week 14 matchup.
The Carolina Panthers and Tampa Bay Buccaneers are two teams in the NFL that are in the playoff picture and still fighting for their lives. These two teams have one game left in the regular season, and if they both win they will be in the playoffs.
After being a 1-4 team in October, the Panthers have found a different formula and have turned it around. With Steve Wilks in charge, the Panthers have won four of their last five games and are now 7-6. They have a respectable defense that allows 22.5 points per game, but they have been hit or miss against the run. That's something they can't afford to do against the Buccaneers.
While the Buccaneers have won three of their last five games, they've lost six of their last eight. Their offense has been hit and miss and the Bucs have struggled to make big plays. In fact, they haven't scored more than 23 points in any of their past eight home games. If the Bucs can beat the Panthers on Sunday, they will lock up the NFC South division and their spot in the playoffs.
Carolina has a much better defense than the Buccaneers. They haven't allowed a sack since Week 10 and have been in the top-10 in fewest sacks in the league entering Week 17.
The Carolina defense has been one of the more underrated units in the league, allowing only one forced fumble all season. This is a huge advantage against a Buccaneers offense that has been a thorn in their side all season.
Tom Brady is one of the most successful quarterbacks in history, but he has been riding the bus lately. His team has allowed three touchdowns and six interceptions in his last three games. He's also completing less than 50 percent of his passes.
During their first meeting, the Panthers held the Buccaneers to just three points. That was good enough to get the win. However, there was more to this game than that. It was a game where the Carolina defense was dominant and gave Tom Brady some trouble.
The Panthers offense has been a little more efficient since Sam Darnold took over the starting job. Despite his recent struggles, Darnold has been good. He has thrown for 112 yards and two touchdowns. There have been fewer big plays for the Buccaneers, but they are still averaging a mediocre 17.7 points per game.
The Carolina defense has been hit or miss this season, but they have managed to hold the Buccaneers to just three points in the first matchup. Hopefully, they can keep their momentum going against the Buccaneers on New Year's Day.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are one of the worst rushing attacks in the league, averaging just 125 yards per game. The Panthers have a solid run game, but they are averaging just 34 yards at halftime.
Eagles fans will have a chance to see their team in action on Saturday night when they play the Miami Dolphins at Hard Rock Stadium. This is the final preseason game for both teams, and gives them an opportunity to evaluate their players. They will also have a chance to determine which roster spots will be available at the end of the season.
The two teams had joint practice sessions this week, and the starters for both teams will likely be rested. That means there are chances for depth players to get an opportunity to shine. While some of the starters are likely to play a minimal amount, others will have a chance to make an impression on national television.
The Miami Dolphins have had a tough season so far. They have dropped two straight road games to tougher opponents, and they have now lost two consecutive games under coach Tom Campbell. But the team's offense has been able to stay competitive in all of these games. Even though they have had a hard time on the ground, they have also been able to score on every series.
On the other hand, the Eagles had a tough time containing the Miami offense. The Eagles gave up 266 yards rushing to Buffalo in Week 1. However, the Dolphins' running game was not nearly as impressive. In addition, they are now 3-10 against the spread in their last 13 games.
In the first quarter, the Dolphins took a 7-0 lead after a short pass to River Cracraft and a 1-yard touchdown run by their starters. The Dolphins added an extra point from Jason Sanders. It was the first time all season that they had scored on the first play of a drive.
The Dolphins then scored on the next three series. With the help of play-action bootleg, they were able to put up a total of 494 yards. Although the Dolphins' offense was able to move the ball well, they still made mistakes. For example, Kary Vincent Jr. knocked a loose pass. Likewise, Kenneth Gainwell fell just short of first down at the Dolphins' 41-yard line.
In the second quarter, the Dolphins regained momentum. On the first drive of the half, they went 9-plays for 88 yards. Elijah Campbell intercepted a pass from Reid Sinnett that was intended for Grant Calcaterra. He then returned the interception 30 yards for a touchdown.
Throughout the game, the Eagles were unable to keep up with the Dolphins' rushing attack. While they did have three different running backs in the game, each had success. One of them was the most encouraging of the group. Myles Gaskin rushed for 39 yards on six carries. Another was Jason Huntley, who finished with 93 yards on 11 carries.
The Eagles were able to hold the Dolphins to three total scores, but they were unable to contain the running game. The Miami starters scored on their first two plays of the game, and they connected for 64 yards on their next two drives.
